Razor: Dubl Duck SatinEdge w/custom @uacowboy scales, Injector Type I
Blade: Schick Injector
Brush: 2nd Anniversary TSC synthetic
Soap: Stirling Hipster
As: LNHC Barbershop Elixir
Well, I went for it today and got another straight razor shave in. Thanks to @MilkCrate again for providing a much better strop (Razor Designs leather/nylon) and the LNHC post shave. I did 10 passes on the nylon and 40 on the leather (seems to be an accepted practice lol) and got to it. My WTG pass went very well. No tugging, the angle seemed to be good, and I could hear the blade doing it’s job. The lather was a bit thick on that pass but it was ok. My XTG pass was another story lol. It was just an awkward feel and I gave myself 2 nice cuts right next to each other on my chin. One about an inch long and the other about a half. After those 2 (pretty much at the end of that pass) I decided to finish up with the jectah lol. I think for the time being I’ll keep my straight shaves to WTG until I’m more comfortable, but like I said, that pass went very well today. So that’s a good thing. I should probably watch some videos for pointers on the XTG pass...

Off to the in-law’s later to watch the Eagles. Carson Wentz is riding the pine again today with Jalen Hurts starting. Philadelphia is deep in a QB controversy!

To an extent, yes. To put it plainly, you’ll improve...until you don’t (when “improvements” will become barely noticeable minor adjustments). When tackling new passes, the lightness of hand and the angles of the razor that you learned will help certainly help. You’ll get there!

Thanks guys. Luckily the 2 cuts were very shallow and sealed up will a little styptic/alum combo. I just watched one video done by, from what I understand, a pretty well known vendor/you tuber (not a vendor here) and I’m pretty sure I don’t want to follow his lead. It almost looked like he was using a 90 degree angle!

I watched the first module (100) in @BarberDave ’s Straight Shaving Tutorial today. I found it to be very informative, and I now have quite a few things to focus in on. The most important being, just practice the WTG pass until it’s mastered! I also took Dave’s advice and did my first pass with a DE. I followed up with 2 WTG passes with the SR and then an ATG pass with the DE. Ultimately I’d say the shave was a success since there was no blood loss lol. But it wasn’t as close as I’d like it to be. That will come in time though. I’m committed to following Dave’s 7 day plan, although it won’t be 7 consecutive days. I’m also taking his advice of not trying to get in SR shave if I can’t take my time. So my morning shaves before work will likely be strictly DE shaves. All in all I’m feeling good about seriously beginning my SR journey. Now I just have to make sure I’m stripping properly lol.

Willie loved the smell of cookies and meatballs filling the house throughout the day. He did not like the fact that he wasn’t allowed to eat any!
In Other News...
Spent the day off baking cookies with the wife and making meatballs and baked ziti for everyone at work. A nice relaxing day...aside from the early morning text from the boss requesting “someone” to be available to work this upcoming weekend...I might have to put my foot down this time.

There is no right or wrong way to strip. As long as you are earning good tips.
The standard in most clubs is. Top comes off after first song, Bottom off after second. Third is au naturel. But the real money is made in the Champagne room.

Took the jectah out for a spin today. The blade felt a bit rough...could be from me dropping the razor into the sink in a sleepy haze
♂. Other than that the shave itself was good. Came out BBS* and smelling festive! I only have one scent that is close to being Christmas related and this is it. I should probably change that.
