Shave Time!

I can’t believe I haven’t posted here since Tuesday! It’s been a hectic week at work...

I had a few bad shaves with the Fatboy that wasn’t dropped and repaired. Set on 5 and 3 didn’t make too much of a difference in comfort. I went back to the GC (got in up to shave 32 on the Derby Premium I think) to give my face a little break. I then switched to my grandfather’s Fatboy. This one had a bent bar on one side that I bent back. To my eye it looks fine now. 2 shaves, one on #3 and one on #5 and it was night and day between this and the other Fatboy. I was able to get 2 excellent shaves out of it so I’ll probably continue to use it this month. I’m not sure what the deal is with the other Fatboy though...

In Other News...
A lot going on right now. Today was the wife’s birthday, which we celebrated at the in-law’s house with dinner, cake, and a single malt for the FIL and I.
Tomorrow our second new hire starts. She’ll be learning my old position to take over for the girl that just isn’t cutting it. So I’ll be training her for the next few days.
And Friday we leave for our annual trip to spring training in Florida! Looking forward to some baseball. The Phillies have made a couple of good moves this offseason so I’m excited to see some of these guys in action.

Currently barking at me because he wants me to throw his toy...I guess he’s not tired yet 🤷🏻‍♂️

Another quality shave with the Fatboy (Grandpop’s) on setting number 3. I walked away solidly DFS+ with just a few areas not up to BBS standards. Bumping up to number 5 tomorrow to see how that goes.

In Other News...
The replacement for my replacement (for those not following along...I think It’s all in previous entries lol) started today. On her first day after about an hour of training, she did more work than the girl that took my old position. Finally we’re all confident that the position I vacated when promoted will again be occupied by someone that can handle it.

The Catching Up Edition:


I’ve been a little MIA as of late, but trying to pop in here and there when I can. Obviously we all have a lot to deal with right now, and I hope all of you are staying healthy and safe!

Vacation was weird. No baseball. Things shutting down while we were there...some things not shutting down. We took a bit of criticism for being there from some folks back home, but it’s ok. I get their perspective and they have every right to that opinion. But anyway, I got few shaves in while I was there. I used my Ball End Tech and RR HD. Can’t remember what soap I brought, but it was definitely a CBL.

Coming home was strange. Everything is closed, or on shortened hours. There’s a curfew. I’ve never seen anything like this. Work is still functioning for now, but the DMV (MVC as it’s called in NJ now 🤷🏻‍♂️) is closed. So after we auction the cars we have titles for at the moment, we’ll be at a standstill until they reopen. There are still things to be done at the branch but if things don’t change soon, there will likely be lay offs.

Shaving has been a calming release that is much needed the last few days...

Awesome Sunday shave today. It was one of those shaves where you can just feel everything going right. I decided to break out the Stirling Boar again and see if it would behave...I was Surprisingly not disappointed! This brush has been a notorious shedder and tonight I only noticed 2 hairs that came loose. I think I’ll continue to use this brush and see if I can finally break it in properly.

Willie World:
Not much to report on in the way of Willie. He’s just doing his thing. It’s Willie’s world, I’m just trying to live in it 🤪

In Other News...
Last month I received another promotion at work. I’m now running the show as the branch manager. It’s been a tough few weeks dealing with COVID issues and being extremely short staffed, while also dealing with NJ DMV constantly shutting down. Lots of stress but eventually everything should get back to normal...I hope!
