Steve's Journal: The Saga Continues....

A 2nd job??? Your return was nice while it lasted.
Well we’ll see how serious this young couple really is about buying a house. All I’ve heard from them so far is foreclosure foreclosure foreclosure. They’re easy to find, not as easy to land if you’re not a cash buyer. Either way I don't plan on going anywhere...but you what happens when you make plans 😂😂😂

Dang! I come up a bit short.
A bit short................................I couldn't swing the interest payment.......
Ya well, the other side of that I have to remind everyone is that we get paid in California money. It’s like playing with Monopoly money out here and doesn’t relate to anywhere else. Doubly so on the peninsula. It results in a lot of things I won’t get into like people commuting 1 1/2-2 hours to live where housing prices are half but get the Bay Area wages.

My Dad was almost transferred to San Francisco for work when I was in high school. He ended up turning down the position because he would have had an almost 3 hour commute. That was the closest he could get and still be able to afford a house on the salary he would have been at.

Shave #26 in the books. Still cutting, not irritating. Still good!

Spent the better part of the day trying to sort out our key situation at work. Found a key box with nearly 100 keys inside (interior door keys, exterior door keys, padlock keys, etc.). Threw about 75 of them in the trash because they didn’t open anything. Also found out that we have 4 or 5 doors in the building equipped with locks but with no keys 🤦🏻‍♂️

27 shaves down, 3 to go. The Derby Premium’s got this! Walked away with very slight irritation today, but I was only a small asterisk away from BBS.

Finally got hit with some real managerial duties at work today. Spent an hour on the phone with the Pennsylvania State Police Vehicle Fraud Investigation Unit. Luckily my uncle is a retired PA state trooper and had a contact there for me, otherwise that could’ve been a 4 hour phone adventure 😳.

This key box was a mess!!!

The key situation at our building is a PITA. All of the vehicles and equipment need keys. John Deere equipment all use the same exact key. Other brands no.
Then each dump truck and pickup truck. Add to that a bunch of guys that take keys home. Hide them in the vehicles etc.
The building doors are all now card key. So we use one badge/card to clock in/out and open the doors. They can use the computer to allow or deny your card to get into certain doors.
Bunch of high tech redneck stuff.
Every job always needs one "adult" to organize that kind of thing.
Then the kids will all eventually mess it all up.

Hang tough.
