Staying Fit Staying Sane

Yesterday: Well I planned on doing 80 day obsession day 26, but I fell asleep.... UGH

Today:

Morning Walk: 60 minutes.
Very beautiful and a bit chilly, but I found this awesome Chicken of the woods Mushroom growing in one of my local parks! It’s still small, so I left it. If it still there in a couple of days, I’ll take it home with me, though eating an urban mushroom does give me some pause.

At lunch: Beach Body's 80 Day Obsession, Day 26 Cardio Flow.

This is the last day of phase 1 and I’m going to do my weights and cardio workouts during lunch from now on! I’ve missed 4 workouts in the last month due to falling asleep and I think this will work better. Also, I feel like drinking a protein shake late in the evening isn’t doing my body much good. I feel great after today’s workout and I’m looking forward to tomorrow!

I'd be wary of eating wild mushrooms .... unless you know exactly what it is and who and their dog passed by it in the last few days.
Hopefully no dogs have been by this one!!! It should get much larger, but we'll see. I've been hunting mushrooms in Missouri since I could walk, my favorite is Morel hunting(almost at the end of the season here).

Morel Mushrooms are the Best! Soo...Good! We don't get them here in Louisiana, but every now and then...when the planets align just right...I have a relative from Michigan come and visit and bring a few.

Today:

Morning Walk: 45 minutes. Wanted to get home a bit early to make pancakes for Nate, he asked me nicely yesterday for a pancake breakfast with strawberries. I couldn't turn him down.

Afternoon/Lunch: 80 day obsession Day 27 Glutes/booty. This is the first day of phase 2, from my understanding the workouts are modified(made harder) and they change around the order.

I really liked how I felt after working out during lunch and that I got to fall asleep at a normal hour without struggling to stay awake for my workout. I'm counting it as a win!

Today's workout was:
- 150' @150lb farmer's walk
- 3x8 @75lb bench press
- 3x8x2 @50lb dumbbell rows
- 35 mins on the elliptical ... Mom put in 36 minutes on her treadmill while we discusses income-tested vs means-tested criteria for government assistance in a retirement home, as her house insurance pretty much doubled over the past two years and she's starting to give serious thought to selling.

Pulled about a 5 gal bucket of dandelions yesterday (unclaimed BONUS workout!) and, since it is nice and sunny out today, I will look to do the same or more today.

Today's workout was:
- 35 mins on the elliptical

No weights today, as I pulled weeds for 4 hours in the backyard yesterday and I'm stiff all over. Mom put in a new PB of 39 minutes on her treadmill, as we discussed her research into retirement homes costing.

Today:

Morning Walk: 45 minutes with IRYNA!!! Always great when I get to walk with the wife!

Afternoon/Lunch: 80 day obsession Day 28 Cardio Core. This is the Second day of phase 2 today.

Yesterday's workout was much harder than the previous phase! I was dripping sweat by the time I was half way through and was really struggling to get the last couple of the 15 rep exercises done.

Today's Cardio Core is supposed to increase the sets from 3 to 6! We shall see how it goes, but I'm expecting it to end in complete exhaustion... Wish me luck.

Okay...after months and months of talking about doing the Farmer's Walk...I finally (semi) finished my project. I still need to cut the bottoms off of the handles, but this is really perfect. I am deciding if I want to take an angle grinder and smooth out some of the threads at the top or if I just want to tape it up and use gloves. I was going to use gloves anyway. The two cinder blocks are a good weight for now. I'll do an official weight soon, but I think each one weighs around 100 pounds. I'll let you now.

Yesterday BONUS: 30 minute walk to pick up a book for wifey at the library. Later on, a 50 minute post-work walk with the same said wife.

Today's workout was:
- 35 mins on the elliptical ... Mom hit a new distance PB of 1.00 miles today in 38 minutes on her treadmill. Her previous distance was 0.91m in 38 minutes. Way to go!

No weights as I knew my back would get a solid going over while on my hands and knees weeding.... and I did. *ugh*

Another training week done. Overall feeling ok, but not sure if I'll keep pushing to add weight after this cycle is over in two weeks. Starting to feel like I'm sort of at my fat limit, and ready to cut some of the excess off the midsection. If not, three weeks more after that max.

Pulled weeds for 4.5 hours today, but decided to go with the weights this morning anyways. *Ugh* I am truly pooped.

Today's workout was:
- 150' @150lb farmer's walk
- 3x8 @75lb bench press
- 3x8x2 @50lb dumbbell rows
- 35 mins on the elliptical ... For Mother's Day, mom clocked in 38 mins on her treadmill while answering the phone a lot.

Over the weekend: 80 day Obsession, Day 29 & 30, total body core and Legs. Leg day was crazy with the use of sliders, definitely took it up a notch. Total body core had a bunch of compound movements that threw me off, but now that I get them they should be better next week.

Today:

Morning Run/Walk: 60 min

Lunch workout: 80 Day Obsession day 31, Abs A$$ & Arms. As different as the other workouts from Phase 2 have been, I'll be really interested to see what we are doing this month???

After my weed-pull workout yesterday, I didn't go with the weights today. After time on the elliptical, I pulled weeds again today for 1.5 hrs.

Today's workout was:
- 35 mins on the elliptical .... Mom was so impressed that she hit 1.00 miles on her treadmill the other day, that her new target is 0.90m at a minimum. It took her 38 mins today, but she did it. I might have to bump my elliptical time up now as well.

This morning: Slept in! I got a full 8 hours of sleep!!! I almost got up and went for a walk but decided to take a rest. I'm sore from leg day and my back and abs are sore from yesterday.

This evening: 80 day Obsession Day 32, Cardio Flow with 6 circuit reps..... I got killed by cardio core, this one will be just as tough if not harder, especially because there is zero downtime in this new phase.

Gonna be swole and tired! Good stuff though!

No weights again today as more dandelion pulling awaits. I bumped up my elliptical time to 40 mins, as my facetime workout partner, my 84 year old mom, has been hitting 38 mins on her treadmill regularly now and I need to keep pace.

Today's workout was:
- 40 mins on the elliptical .... With a little encouragement, mom managed to put in the extra few minutes to hit 40 mins (new PB!) on her treadmill as well, hitting the 1.00 mile mark for the 2nd time ever. What a gal! 💃
