Soap Sample Pass Around!!!

Razor: Tatara Masamune Nodachi SB
Blade: Astra SP (1)
Brush: The Shaving Cadre 1st Anniversary Brush
Soap: Eufros Park Avenue
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
Aftershave 2: Nivea 2 into 1 Aftershave
Fragrance: Prada Amber Pour Homme Intense

1st shave with Euphros soap and Park Avenue is a nice scent I can't describe but liked and was curious about the makers base so pulled a sample from the pass around box. Great soap base and would buy if they have a scent I want in the future as the scent strength was nice and strong. Also 1st shave with the Nodachi SB razor from Tatara. EXTREMELY well engineered and machined razor. Initial thoughts are I like it and will try with my go to blade of a Wizamet. Today was an Astra SP on recommendation that it's a best fit for the razor. Hoping a Wizamet is better for me as the Astra SP just isn't sharp enough for me and never has been. It's an okay blade but not as efficient with my whiskers. Looking forward to more shaves and getting to know this razor. Video uploaded with again just INITIAL thoughts as it was just the 1st shave. Have a great day Everyone !!!!!

2020 Shave # 64 ( 482 Consecutive Shaves )
Razor: Tatara Masamune Nodachi SB
Blade: Wizamet (1)
Brush: Rubberset 400/Maggards Synthetic
Soap: T&S Kyoto
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
Aftershave 2: Aqua Velve
Fragrance: Bvlgari Aqva Amara

2nd shave with the Nodachi razor from Tatara. Chose T&S Kyoto for the soap today and took a bit getting the lather I wanted due to not getting it loaded onto the brush (soft soap pushing around the bowl) and then adding too much water and got a frothy lather that eventually came around closer to what I was looking for. Not a problem with the soap, just need a tub of it but it's no longer available. Anyway on to the razor. Installed a fresh Wizamet blade and got a better shave with it but still dialing in the angle which seems to requires you to lean more to riding the cap than I normally do, but that's where the sweeter spot is for cutting. The longer handle makes this more difficult for me to do so comfortably but we will continue the science experiment tomorrow. After some Maravilla 70 we topped off with Aqua Velva and some Bvlgari Aqva Amara. Video will be in the VLOG member section. Have a great day Cadre !!

I'm curious of the scent strength of the sample is a little weak as you didn't mention the scent in your video at all. It should be up in your nose just loading the brush.

Maybe the samples weak as it's there for sure but not much more than I remember WCS Campfire if at all.

2020 Shave # 66 ( 484 Consecutive Shaves )
Razor: "The Challenge" Razor/Vector
Blade: N/A and Proline (2)
Brush: Stuart Maggards Synthetic
Soap: Central Texas Mr. Pepper
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
Aftershave 2: Clubman Whiskey Woods

In preparation for my razors coming home soon, I thought I should try again with some I had gotten from CBL's yard sale. I got a good shave from The Challenge Razor the first time I used it but not since. Got the 1st pass with it done and started pass 2 but it was feeling tuggy. Switched to my WECK Sextoblade but........................wait for it @GearNoir I used it WITHOUT the guard to do pass 2. 3 pass for clean up was the Vector. Feeling smooth but we'll see if it lasts or if I need another shave this evening to clean up for services. Mr. Pepper is a fun scent for sure but maybe wasn't the best base for my slow straight passes as it was drying out on me some. Still an enjoyable shave with good results and no blood so I'll take it as a win. Have a Stellar Day Cadre !!!

That was a meandering shave for sure. Love the scent of that soap
Tell me about it...............

Okay, here's the deal. In order to move this along and give me a chance to try other soaps I want to try that I have new to me since before my 3017 and more coming and still get in the couple more samples I have to try.............. How's that for meandering ? I decided to pull the A&E Cafe Au Laite sample out as there wouldn't be (y) anything left after I use it. I decided to forgo using the A&E St. Barts as I know the base and liked the scent enough to confirm it is a Set buy for me eventually. I moved an almond size amount out of the NO Flying Hide sample and put into a jar for me to get to later. That finishes the ones I pulled to try and so it's ready to journey on to Tim @MilkCrate I will try to get into the mail today and send him tracking as well as the Librarian @NurseDave I have a few samples in a bag specifically for Tim in a ziplock and labeled for him that are tagging along. I added the following 7 samples to the pass around also:
1. Fine Italian Citrus
2. CBL Vegan 50 Shades of Vetiver
3. Murphy and McNeil Naid
4. Zingari Man The Soloist
5. Pannacrema Nuavia Rossa
6. West Coast Shaving Chypre
7. West Coast Shaving Oriental

Yes it all fit and still room that is filled with padding that someone put in there to fill space

A&E Cafe Au Laite is quite a nice coffee scented soap. A bit sweet but well rounded.

Brush: Stirling Badger Fan
Soap: A&E Cafe au Lait

The Cafe au Lait is a chocolaty Coffee scent and whipped up a typical A&E lather that got swiped off the face with my Gillette Red Tip. Amazing shave in closeness and comfort considering number of and spacing of recent shaves. It's a new month and the beginning of the route schedule. I hit it extremely hard Monday and should continue the progress but my heart isn't in it today. I'll mosey out of the door soon...............................well eventually and get a lot some work done. Have a great day Cadre !!!
