Nice shave Rich! Conscripting the cats to service may make them mutiny and go AWOL at some point.

Glad you finally have the car back and running correctly.

I just want to add what a great work "wicked" is. It doesn't get used here on the west coast, but I think I need to start a trend.

Nice read today. Glad you got the Miata out.

Nice update on the car! Quite jealous of the MK32. And if my dogs took over the counter like your cats, I think I would go nuts. LOL
Thanks Guys! The cats do much better when it's their idea to mount the guard station. After several months of driving the (very sluggish) 240D, driving the Miata is a real treat!

Great to see that you got the Miata out and tearing about! Of course, great shave with the new gear!

Great read Rich. Glad you got the Miata out. As far as the insurance claim goes, I cannot speak for your insurance company, but in my experience, 2 claims in 8 years is not something would make me even think twice.

Great stuff Rich. Good to see the Miata is back in action. Gotta get me an MK32 lol.

Great catching up on some nice shaves, Rich! And terrific pics as well.

One of our cats, Thatch, enjoys chilling in the hallway bathroom sink, but there's not enough room for them to join me for a shave at my sink. Although he did try to trip me once while using my Stark Steampunk, so there's little chance he wants to be a Safety Cat!

Ooh that Imp:

Straight Shave #294
Razor: 5/8 Case Red Imp
Soap: A&E Grecian Horse
Scuttle: Crown King Travel Scuttle
Strop: Mitchel Mogal #824 Horsehide
Brush: RedBaron Blood Knot
AS/EdT: A&E Grecian Horse
Sound track: none

The Stuff: Opening the tub of 'The Hoss' I found myself not sure of what I was smelling. Remembering other's experiences I am reserving judgment until after I lather and get used to it. Something in there is just a bit odd to me. The Case is pretty keen after a trip on the treated strop and leather, and the brush is one that I am growing to like a lot. I have another of these knots that if I intend to set less deeply as I set this one. SafetyCat is on site, but seems pretty antsy. I let him believe it was his idea to watch the shave. The started in the sink, but moved to the tub, then back to the sink. I think he must sense impending danger.

The Shave: The soap did change it's notes once lathered and I am still either not completely enjoying it, or it is complex enough that my nose is confused. It performs great though and is plenty slick for the savageness of this little Case. Holy Moley I must have been hitting on all cylinders last I freshed this one! Three passes and it is no longer singing so I am visually picking off the straggler whiskers, which should mean I am looking at DFS at least. Alas, I still find bristlyness under my chin. I think I must have tall or distended follicles because as I examine the areas, I don't see whiskers just a bit of rough skin. I may have to decide that it is what it is and just give myself a pass on these areas. I am doing as best I can without peeling off skin.

Comments: Spent the morning throwing the Miata around some more, drifting around on the hard rubber tires. I've not put tires on this one for several years and they have lost much of their stickiness. It is really easy to throw it into a drift with a shift and a little nudge. What fun! I tried to simply light the tires up and make a nice plume of smoke, but spotted the local Geandarme just as I was starting and aborted the attempt. I escape to smoke em another day. Then new tires.

Respectfully Submitted,
Rich

great read Rich...glad you enjoyed the soap base, though it seems the scent might not be 100% agreeable to you. Great story on the Miata front.

Sounds like a lot of fun with the Miata

Thanks guys, she’s not real fast, but is light and sporty to thrash around in.

A neighbor of ours has a hardtop convertible Miata. Several years ago I had a Z4, standard trans. It was a blast. I never had a chance to cruise with him, but other friends of Amy and me had a Boxter that we would cruise with on the countless back roads here in central PA. Man I miss that car.

Mine has the hard top too. It makes it quieter and feel a little stiffer in the corners. Problem is it is really clumsy to remove and the rag top invariably is hard to stretch the first time.

Terrific shave, Rich, and sounds like you have fun in that sporty li'l thing! I will keep my Challenger, though, he he he.
