Rich's Journal: Adventures with Life and Sharp things

We are kinda shopping “re-positioning” cruises. We’ve been told they can be a great bargain. That would be western Caribbean. The other option would be an all inclusive somewhere.

Razor: Schick Model M / Personna 74 Tungsten (27)
Soap: Speick stick
Scuttle: Captains Choice
Strop:
Brush: Frank shaving 22mm synthetic “Macy”
AS/EdT: Speick
Talc:

Comments: As I perceived possible technique trouble in my last shave I decided to reboot and give ‘er another go.

The Hardware: The Personna 74 Blade still performs well and provided a great shave. This Frank Shaving brush has exceeded my expectations as a brush who’s origin is China. The Schick M is still an apex predator.

The Software: I went a lot wetter this time with this soap. And it’s primary slickness is pretty good, but as I observed before residual slickness is not very good with this soap and my water. If I want to shave over an area, I need to re-apply lather. So either the razor is an amazing squeegee that removes all traces of the soap, or I need to move on and test another soap for the endurance testing of the blade.

The Shave: Knowing the characteristics of this soap made it pretty easy to make adjustments and come out with a 4 pass BBS. Speick will appear again this month, perhaps with a DE, Straight, or SE, but not with a blade I am endurance testing. Its characteristics may skew my subjective findings. Speick is a good soap and aftershave that smell great. I need to give it a fair shot under optimum conditions.

Razor: Schick Model M / Personna 74 Tungsten (29)
Soap: Pannacrema Nuavia Blu
Scuttle: Captains Choice
Strop:
Brush: Omega +2 Badger brush of lathering
AS/EdT: Thayers Aloe/ Good ol’ Old Spice
Talc:

Comments: Football Begins! If you live in or near Ohio, you probably know OSU football is kind of a religion here. As an alum and employee, I am obliged to sport the colors. Pannacrema Blu is the flavor of the day and endurance testing of the Personna 74 continues. Today I’m taking root in the command chair (unless told to move by SWMBO). Playing a little with a three segment video. I’m kind of on the fence as it could easily turn cheesy.

The Hardware: I had concerns about the 74 cashing it in before I expected, but today it felt like a fresh blade. Of course the M is doing fine. It IS a ‘Jectah.

The Software: This soap is one of my favorites. I find myself passing it over so as not to show favoritism. And perhaps to stretch its life out (it was kinda pricey) It feels luxurious as I apply it with the softest brush in my inventory.

The Shave: Another spectacular shave provided by a great soap and the blade that must feel it has something to prove. I could finish up just with the Thayers, but I like Old Spice and don’t go to it much either.
