Rich's Journal: Adventures with Life and Sharp things

I went on a Navy cruise once. The lima beans needed lots of butter, but the midnight SOS was excellent!

I have always wanted to go to a sumo match in Japan - seriously! If I ever make it over to Japan, that's the first thing I want to do. Second is get some dojo workouts in. Back in the day when I was in judo, I always wanted to visit and work out at the Kodokan. Now it's karate - much better on my old back.

WiFi is pretty bad down below decks. I’ve been recording my shaves and such but have a hard time posting stuff. I’ll catch up once back in my lair.

First shave back from an adventure and i immediately forget how to operate my camera. Received another Feather clone in the Box-o-Mail the post office was holding for me. This one is painted black and initial fit an finish is a little better than the other one, but not as good as the Kai’s. In order to get sufficient blade exposure I had to use a Feather Pro Super and that put the edge out there in fine shape. I told a couple of Cruise stories before realizing I had failed to hit the start button so all you guys will get today will be the wind-up.

The Hardware: This Clone is quite similar to the other excepting it’s painted black and I didn’t have to make any adjustments to the jaws. I will probably have to adjust the springs to get it to hold the blade a bit more firmly (or not) The parts are all interchangeable with the other clone. The Semogue is a fine lathered although I have to get used to my house water again. Final pass with the Blue Gillette Slim with no issues.

The Software:Mystic water worked great as a face lathering soap on the cruise, but when I moshed it into the sample bowl it is acting a little different. I believe the water on the ship was a good deal softer than my home water so I missed the lathering zone a little bit. Still it is good and slick and with the addition of a little WS-23 very cool and refreshing.

The Shave: Overall a very satisfying and refreshing shave just shy of BBS which is my usual shave. I had been avoiding the Super’s because of their additional exposure, but I guess my technique (or luck) gave me a good basis to use these blades a bit more.

Yep, sorry you're back to having to serve yourself, but the WiFi wasn't good enough for our Rich fix!

Comments: Ok.. I took an afternoon nap. Maybe that’s the problem. I had a Wonderful, near grail quality shave with one of my favorite soaps. I have been keeping up an increased walking regimen and have lost another pound. The problem? Video production. It got out of phase again. I have posted it below.

The Hardware: The Schick and the Personna Blade at 24 shaves continue to perform very well. If there is degradation, it’s nearly imperceptible. .

The Software: C’mon guys! It’s SV! You gotta really try to make something go wrong

The Shave: If ever there were a shave that deserved to be recorded and shared with the world. This was one of them. What happened? Well my brothers, I did my best. I post bad ones and good ones. So here it is..
