Straight Shave #308

Genco Master Barber .

Scuttle: Crown King 12oz.
Strop: Mitchel Mogal #824 Horsehide
Brush: Sterling Boar
AS/EdT: Sterling Island Man
Sound track: Jethro Tull - Bouree'
The Stuff: I don't have a lot of American razors from the Golden Age of Manly Shaving, but I have to put Genco at or near the top. Certainly equal to European razors I have from the same period. It has really taken a great edge equal to any of my Swedes. Sterling Island Man gets the call for a Summer's day shave, and Sterling's Boar just keeps getting better.
The Shave: Sterling has never disappointed me when it comes to performance and fragrance. I am still kind of on the fence about the fragrance of Island Man. Certainly it's a summer scent, but I'm unsure of whether it rings my chimes or not. It's not been used for a while so I'll see what Mama thinks of it. Under the watchful eye of Noel the Safety Understudy. Two passes have me pared down to a nice smooth DFS.
Comments: I am continuing my exercises so when I go back to the hand doctor I don't have to do the surgery he's been threatening me with. The scar looks better, but it still hurts when I do the exercises. I don't completely understand what he has in mind, but eventually I'll have two good shavin' paws.
