Love your post, Rich. We have two guard cats standing watch here, boy and girl. And a guard bird, too.

'Jectah + Opuntia = Groot!

'Jectah Shave
Straight shave #301
Razor: M type Schick Adjustable injector
Soap: Opuntia
Scuttle: Crown King 12oz.

Strop: Mitchel Mogal #824 Horsehide
Brush: RazoRock 400 Synthetic
AS/EdT: SV Opuntia
Sound track:

The Stuff: Either through sheer laziness or through providence, I enter the den with no razor in hand and there sits Buster, SafetyCat on duty watching me for either a drink of water from the sink or shave action. Well buddy, it's shave time for now. Drink later. The M-type is sitting in stand-by in the cabinet and the SV section is right up in front so it's an easy grab. The 400 is in the drying rack so here we go!

The Shave: One neat feature of these razors is there are a number of increments between the indexed aggression points. I backed it down a bit just because... America... so there! The 400 seems to really like the SV and made a nice yogurty lather with cold water. We seem to have had no spring again this year. Went from Snow straight to hot I am not pleased but really am starting to enjoy this cool water lathering. And getting some arm exercise with the 400, which coincidentally weighs some 400 pounds today. But I like it and in 3 passes I am dolphin smooth and ready to sit in the family room and impress nobody today. DFS and all. I like the fragrance of this soap and AS. SWMBO is as usual indifferent so I am golden with this choice.

Comments: The Line-X guy will be keeping my car for two days this time and the Miata is still in the shop chasing down electrical gremlins. I hope they make some headway so I wont be completely marooned for the whole time it is out of commission. This will also happen later when the bottom half of the car gets painted. Yes my friends it will remain the same peanut butter color.

Glad the Line-X guy is keeping to his warranty. Sounds like a decent shave and I love the pic!

Straight
shave #302
Razor: 5/8 Genco Easy Aces
Soap: WSP Gaelic Tweed
Scuttle: Crown King 12oz.

Strop: Mitchel Mogal #824 Horsehide
Brush: Semogue 1305
AS/EdT: WSP Gaelic Tweed
Sound track:

The Stuff: Not a whole lot of stubble coming out from the last shave, but the Easy Aces is razor enough for a seek and destroy mission. Breaking out the Tweed, firehose and all. The Semogue is in the rotation

The Shave: As I simplify my shave prep I find I can have the hot towel, hang it up while I shave and then I'll have a cool towel to clean up with at the end of the shave. Feels very cowboy-like and I've been enjoying the Rifleman and Wagon Train this afternoon. Three passes and I am right back in DFS land where I need to be. The other Aces razor may be jealous for the action so I'll put it on the docket for next time out.

Comments: I've been looking around for cultural references to the phrase 'Easy Aces' and the only thing I can come up with is a popular Radio program from 1930 to 1945. Sponsored most notably by Pabst Blue Ribbon beer. Starred Goodman Ace and his wife Jane, it was quite popular and had a number of items using it's name Pinball Games, Records (of course) and I presume these razors, although that is a pretty far reach I think.

It appears that 'Car-ma' is smiling on me. I got calls from both garages this morning. The one is keeping the Benz overnight to make sure it doesn't bubble and the other says he found the loose wire that has been intermittently grounding out my ignition (which was quite a pain in the keester) in any case I'll have wheels come the morrow.

Intermittent electrical faults are just nuts to find. I hope this is the end of it. I may actually put the Miata up for sale this spring. I drove it twice last spring and summer. The main deal is, it has working AC, The Benz does not. I need to replace the compressor and that's kind of a trick with two bad hands. Gotta pay for one project by selling the other. SWMBO has spoken.

Good news about the vehicle! And yes...intermittent electrical problems are a pain the patella for even those who are experienced in such matters. Hopefully this will be the be all that ends all.

Good find on the research. It amazes me how much information on the things of yore you can find in this post Boomer and Post Gen X day of the Millenial and what ever comes after them.

I Gotta pay for one project by selling the other. SWMBO has spoken.

If she has spoken...then it is Gospel!

Great couple of shaves Rich!

Glad to hear you are getting the cars taken care of.
