lol - I love Pinnacle Grooming; I do see Phoenix & Beau a lot as well.....Jabonman, Eufros, WIckhams, Los Jabonnes De Jeserra, Lothur, Extro Cosmeti - and also the classics TooBs, Geo Trumper, etc... - and now I see a bunch coming out of the eastern end of Europe as well Elly's from Ukraine, Fenomeno (Russia)...... Now I'm jealous 😃
Nice! Thanks for the suggestions. ;)

OK, today's @Fenster SODA shave is dedicated to those who just might not see it my way - for those that call the bubbly beverage - Pop (I blanche just writing that, it brings great shame).

So the soap is an homage to the, dare I say, Mid-Western Pop, by the name Green River. Scent-wise it reminds me of 7-Up or Sprite with maybe a tinge of Mountain Dew. I looked up the historical significance on Wikipedia - it says:

Green River soda was first created in 1916 Davenport, Iowa, by Richard C. Jones, who owned a local confectionary shop. In 1919, Jones sold his recipe to the Schoenhofen Edelweiss Brewing Company of Chicago. Prior to 1920, the brewery produced the popular Edelweiss beer. Schoenhofen began manufacturing Green River and other soft drinks in order to survive the Prohibition Era. It was also made by the Sweetwater Brewery in Green River, Wyoming.

It was popular as a soda fountain syrup, trailing only Coca-Cola in popularity throughout the Midwest. After Prohibition ended in 1933, the Schoenhofen Brewery continued to manufacture Green River, while resuming the production of alcoholic beverages. The Brewery closed in 1950.

But apparently it is still being made - I found it on Amazon.

Anyway - I thought it was a nice piece of history there. One small note though...........if you look on the label - it says SODA!

Onwards to the land of weirdos where every soda is called Coke. How do they order at a restaurant? "I'll have a coke." *Waitress brings a Coca Cola* Patron: "This isn't what I ordered....."

I have to admit - I really love this scent! My aftershave bottle has seen better days though! All I can say is "I'm a Pepper, You're a Pepper, Wouldn't you Like to Be a Pepper Too?"

The Phillies seem to do so much better when I don't watch them. Win 4-3. Should I take that personally? Today is going to be dedicated to filling about 1000 water balloons because - it is Saturday. Have a great day Cadre!

Great shave Brian! Dr Pepper is one of the family favorites for soda.

Block party for the 4th?

In an unofficial manner - one of my sons loves water balloons - so we usually fill a laundry basket or two up with them and go to the community park - then all the kids come around and we have a neighborhood water balloon fight - kids all love it!

Growing up in Chicagoland, we drank Green River in grammar school as a treat on St. Patrick's Day. Not sure if it's around all year but pops up all over the place during that time of year.

Didn't know there was a soap based on it - pretty cool label since I work in that building behind the L in that photo!

That is pretty sweet!
I found a 4 pack on Amazon - it was fairly expensive. We have a unique soda shop in my town that sells a lot of the old timey stuff and out of the ordinary brands. I’m going to see if they see it there.

Happy Independence Day! Today’s shave is an amalgamation of three soaps to represent how the US is a country representative of many peoples.

To all my cadre friends, no matter where you live, - I wish you happiness and health!

Monday's Shave:

Got a late shave last night - I absolutely love this soap scent.

Razor: Feather Artist Club SS (Folding)
Blade: Feather Pro Guard Artist Club
Brush: PAA The Starcraft
Lather: Barrister & Mann Le Grand Chypre
Aftershave: Strike Gold Shave Ike
Additional Care:
Rochas Moustache 1949 EdT

Chypre is fast becoming my new favorite scent genre. This was a great shave to end the day! That citrus pop followed by a traditional - old school like scent. The aftershave is based on the fragrance Eight and Bob - which has a really neat story behind it (no doubt somewhat embellished - but none the less - I enjoyed) - Eight & Bob Story . I liked the AS so much - I went back to Strike Gold and bought their EdP version - it is becoming one of my favs.

The fragrance - Rojas Moustache is supposed to be similar to Eau Sauvage EdT. I can't attest as I have the EdP version which has a different profile. I can say this is a very nice, gentlemanly cologne - right up there with Eight & Bob.

I had a fantastic holiday weekend - filled with fireworks and of course, for Aidan, a trip to Urban Air.
