Well - I learned an important lesson today. Don’t sneeze while shaving with a straight razor. I look like SSG Barnes from the movie Platoon.

If I were only younger…..

Yesterday was an amusing day - great walk and swim with Aidan - and grilled steaks - and my landlord was cracking me up with a trip down memory lane - and the joys of 80’s movies. He’s one of my best friends - but also two generations younger than me. He was my 1SG’s son. I got out of the Army and hired him before he even graduated high school - he is a savant. Since then he’s build the enterprise backbone of Sirius-XM and now basically runs the world’s DNS security systems - yeah - he’s that bright. Well I had to explain to him yesterday - Mr. Mom “220, 221 - whatever works“ and also Gung Ho (and the geo politics of that Comedy 😂). Oh, the joys of the 80s flicks - where everything ends in a happy ending (except to Live and Die in LA - which the main character dies - but has one of the greatest endings in all movies “You now work for me…..” 😂 Then I had to tell him that Nicholas Cage was an actual serious actor at one time and told him the plot line for Leaving Las Vegas (which to me was one of the best acting jobs Nick ever did - and I never left a movie theater feeling so empty ☹️)….Good Times.

Looking to chill today. Aidan and I will do a STEAM project today and that is that.

Have a great Sunday!

Ouch! Sorry about the cut. Had it been any worse it would have made for a interesting conversation in the ER. Hope you heal up quickly.
Luckily it looks worse than it is - it didn’t bleed much - I hit it with a styptic pencil immediately - stung a little - but luckily just a little blood. now I have a cool shaving story 😂

Thank goodness I wasn’t shaving around my nose lol

New acquisition from CBL - love this! And it goes with about 90% of my shave software. Boom goes the dynamite.

Same ol’ same ol’ at work - but sometimes that‘s a good thing. Back to school meeting today for the kids. Have a great day everyone (or evening since this post is late).

Razor: Wilbert Cutlery Co. Damascus Steel
Brush: TG Shave Co Honey & Cream
Bowl: Walmart Soup Mug
Soap: Ethos Grooming Blood Orange Cream
Aftershave: Murphy & McNeil Banzai! Aftershave
Balm: Soap Commander Charisma Balm
Additional Care: Calvin Klein CK One Summer Daze EdT

Time to get back on the bike again - went a heck of a lot slower this time 😂. All things orange-ish today (the CK One is technically Kumquat not orange). Ethos always performs!

Well Aidan today decided that the bathroom should also serve as an aquarium - so we started out the day being Jacque Cousteau. Oh the joys of summer!

Planning on taking half a day today as this is Aidan’s last day of summer before school. Visited with all the teachers last night. The big thing in our HS is that they have this new space aged football field and this year will be the first home game in 2 years. Last year they were ripping up the field and replacing it and the year before was COVID so every game in those two years were away games. Aidan starts tennis in a few weeks as well.

Have a great Tuesday!

Wow, two years to redo the football field? That must have been some undertaking!

Have a good one buddy!

Thank you my friend! They really went to town on this - new artificial grass turf - the kind they use that has the rubber pellets to make it seem more like “real” turf. I’ve walked on it - it is really soft and spongy like new sod almost. Plus they added a new track encircling the field - the standard kind everyone is used to- again with that rubberized surface.

Considering it is a multi-purpose field - football, soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, track and field……I’d say it was money well spent especially if it prevents injuries and from what the school board listed as cost savings from not having to care for real grass/resod all the time.

Unlike the county to our West who had a school that spent almost half a million dollars on a new score board. 🙄
