Quijote's search for BBS

Nice catch up Don. Your son picked a nice setup. Remember I stropped the ProGuard blade also to prolong the life of the blade. I am going to pick me up a Green Feather Kamisori soon to go with my folding one.

Hope your son's finger is healing that looks like a nasty bruise on the nail bed.

Well, my self imposed no purchase didn't work out so well. I have an injector + 100 blades that I won last night on the bay headed this way.

Hey Don, I have the exact same Kami style DX, as well as a folding version. I have not used the Kami version for quite a while, but excellent shaver for sure. I have only used the Super Pro blades in my DXs, and they do demand your full attention. I also migrated over to the traditional Kamisori, which is a completely different beast if you want to shave keeping the Omote against the face. Great shaving razor though, just takes some time to get used to it.

i tried to tell you that the no purchase limitation was a ridiculous idea

Running late today, so just a quick shave. Other than trying to go so fast that I slung a little lather, it was a very good shave. 3 pass BBS. What else can I say about these products? All top notch.

A la Mancha, we got up early yesterday and the kids saw what the bunny left them. Then we went to church, where I taught the 5yr old - 1st grade boys. Then we went to my parents' house where as soon as we got there, Elijah slammed my mom's SUV door on his finger. About 80% of his nail bed is now black and it is miserably painful. But he persevered on and hunted eggs in their backyard. It was tough getting him to sleep. We wrapped it in gauze to pad it. We also let him sleep in our bed, so I slept on the couch.

Today will be a good day. I hope you all have a good day too.

Nice shave Don, sorry to hear about the little'un's finger. Other than that, it sounds like it was a good day yesterday!

That’s good. I’m pretty sure the R word is banned on this site anyway ?

Sounds like it’s time for a needle and a match to take care of that nail

I would love to, but he is so scared of things like that, the school nurse that he insisted on seeing toasty said it would be more traumatizing than it is worth.

I grabbed my favorite straight this morning to come back to the traditional straights from the world of the Feather system. As soon as that first stroke was sliding down my face, I felt something was off. The blade isn't as keen as normal. I need to take it back to the balsa for a slight touch up. But, this one, once it dulls, it just doesn't cut as closely. It doesn't tug and pull like the DX was doing. I continued with it even though it wasn't up to my standards, and it gave me a 2 pass CCS. If I would have had the time to do my 3rd pass, I could have gotten that to DFS, but I am happy here. I am going to have to shake up my den tonight and change some of the soaps that I have within reach in there. It seems like I keep reaching for the same ones over and over.

A la Mancha, Elijah's nail bed is now all black, but he is complaining about the pain less, so that is good. He was too tired last night for Boy Scouts, so we just stayed home. Tonight, Arabella has her first softball practice of the season. Still no word yet when Elijah's first baseball practice is. I was told that this week would be his first practice too, but I haven't heard from the coach yet. We also have a camp out this weekend with Boy Scouts and before we go, I have to get my tetanus booster. They require it to camp. I will go at lunch today to get it.

You are a brave brave man letting the little one do baseball and scouts. If we did both here there would be zero nights to be at home as a family. Sorry about the blade but good shave otherwise.

Well, this is a church league, so it is only one practice and game a week. But, I am already debating next year. The razor is no big deal. I can have it popping hairs in just a few minutes with that pasted balsa.

Sorry to hear about the edge going on you a bit, Don, but it sounds like the busy-ness is a good busy.
