I went back to the slant today. I do love this razor. The only negative thing that I can say about it is that the balance is off. Because of the heavy stainless handle, it feels bottom heavy, so I find myself having to pay more attention to the pressure I am applying. Today, that bit me. I lapsed my concentration a bit and a little blood made an appearance. Nothing significant, but enough to remind me to pay attention. This Graydog brush has a massive handle. I love it. With my long "magician" fingers like some of you have said I have, it just feels very comfortable in my hand. And enough cannot be said about this knot. I have not tried any of the super premium knots available, but I do not know how they will get better than this. I think between this brush, the Legacy brush and my Omega, it has pretty much cured my Brush AD for now. The Stirling just performs. Nothing new there. I did test my theory from yesterday about using the CL A/S without my Lucky Tiger salve. I was right. This stuff has plenty of skin food for the summer months. Then there is this scent, it is easily one of my top 5. They only release it for a short time each year around December, but I will be picking up more this year. The scent notes according to their website are: cypress, oakmoss, cedar, vetiver, rose, geranium, juniper, bergamot, grapefruit, vanilla, benzoin, musk, patchouli. It comes together for a nice fougere scent.
A la Mancha, as some of you have noticed, I started on my rescaling project. I am not going to promise it will be quick, but I had to at least take the scales off to give me motivation to proceed with it. I am working on coming up with a design for the scales that I like. I have been thinking about making the toe end of the scales mimic the toe shape of the blade. I have not settled on that yet though.
