Nice shave with the DG soap Don! Prayers for an uneventful, good resolution to the Dr.'s appointment on Friday.

This appointment is a very routine thing for us. We have to go every 6 months to make sure she doesn't have any growths in her iris. If these are present, she would get a clinical diagnosis. They also check the shape to make sure there are no growths on the optic nerve.

The fancier DG soaps with matching scents I've been able to hold off on trying. Just for the fact that if you like it, you HAVE to buy the matching frag.

Nice read Don, and although no human kids as mine is all growed up, but we do have tow very stealthy Siamese, and if you remember the old place, I have a momma Wolf Spider that shows up this time of year, so an open door provides the best screaming little girl egress point, LOL

Thanks everyone. Today, while my kids were out playing, one of them didn't get the door closed all the way. Our cat got out during this time. He has gotten out before and always come back. Well, this time, he hasn't yet. If he doesn't, it will kill the kids. Elijah has already freaked out a couple of times.

Well, about 1AM last night, he decided to come back. The child meltdown crisis of 2018 has been diverted.

Straight Shave # 64

Waterville Cutlery
Sorrentino Tuxedo
PannaCrema Rossa
LT VC / leftover lather

This razor just works better for me than my other 2 straights. I am not sure if it is the extra weight or the different edge on it, but it makes the shave almost effortless. My other 2 have JNAT edges, while this one, I am assuming it is synthetic because the person I bought it from said he honed it up to 20k. Granted, as soon as I got it, I did a HHT on it and it was only at about a 2. After some laps on the balsa, it was HHT4 easy. After 2 passes, I am DFS. And this soap, what can be said about it that has not been heralded by many others? It is an amazing soap that I will be buying at some point. Rossa is my favorite scent of the 4 and it is strong enough that I can just rub in the excess lather and use that as my A/S for the day.

A la Mancha, my son came up to me a couple of days ago holding a Lego wing from a Ninjago dragon that we had bought him a year and a half ago. I asked him why he was carrying it around and he told me that he is going to find the rest of the pieces (around 500 of them) and rebuild it. This thing was destroyed within a week of having it. So, I did what every good father would do. I told him that when he finds all the pieces, I will help him put it back together.

Good shave!

Totally identify with the LEGO scenario. The issue is totally multiplied with my 3 boys. They’ve gotten some really cool sets (shoot, I’d play with them if no one were looking) and they get played with for a few days. Inevitably one of the boys requires a piece from his brother’s new set and stealthily dismantles it for necessary parts and the rest get scattered. The resulting uproar is often tremendous.

interesting on the edge on the Waterville. It just might be that you prefer a synthetic edge to a natural edge.

I love that Rossa scent! To me it just smells like luxury. Very exotic and sensual. It's my my favorite also. Great Dons think alike, eh.

Glad the cat came home. I'm not overly a fan of cats (mostly because they like to put me in the hospital with respiratory distress) but I do have dogs...and if something happened to either of them...it would be a bad day in this Don's household.

So many soaps, so few shaves. You have me wanting to pull out the Rossa, but have some others I need to get to first. And this is how I end up with a two shave day.

Good to hear that the fur baby came back. Rossa is an excellent scent, and probably the strongest in the Nuavia line. Good stuff Don.

This totally made me laugh out loud!

JECTAH!
Graydog 70/30
Cella
LT VC / Proraso Red

I really need to take out this injector more often. It doesn't glide through the whiskers as easily as some of my other razors but the results speak for themselves. I did 3 passes and ended up with a DSBBSGLMNOP. I may or may not have added a few letters there, but you will never know because I am not sure even Dave understands his own rating system. The Cella is really doing well. I figured out a method for great lathers for it. I don't think it will ever be a favorite, but it is very nice. The Proraso red was spot on for today.

A la Mancha, went to Chattanooga today. Everything went well with the check up no Lisch nodules or other growths. She does have a lazy eye, so we have to take her back in September now. Since some things are changing, the Dr. wants to keep a closer eye on her.

Afterwards, we let her pick the lunch place. She picked a restaurant called The Purple Daisy Picnic Cafe. To my surprise though, it is actually a really good BBQ restaurant.

All, in all, a great day.

Cella not a favorite? Whaaaaat?

Good shave. Glad the checkup went well! Very little goes wrong if it comes with a side of BBQ!
