Razorock German 37 / Gillete 7 O'Clock Green (5?)
Sorrentino Tuxedo
Declaration Grooming Colonia Balsamica
LT VC / Chatillon Lux Colonia Balsamica

I got this soap in yesterday and I could not wait to use it. I had previously had a sample of a different DG soap (back when they were L&L) and ever since I used it up, I have missed it. I spun open the tub of this stuff as soon as I got it. The SOS off of the tub was faint, only a 1.5 out of 5, but it was glorious. This morning when I went to lather it, the scent was more prevalent, probably a 3 out of 5. Then I applied it, this stuff is great. Just the feel of it with the tuxedo made me want to keep lathering it on my face. I had to stop myself and start the actual shave. It was a 3 pass affair ending up with a DFS+. I think the blade is starting to dull a bit. It is a little more short lived than my normal experience with these blades. But, I am going to bin it anyways. The A/S went on and I was in heaven for a little bit. Unfortunately, with my extended lathering time, I had to hurry through the last bit and didn't get as much A/S as I normally use. So, I am sitting here without the pleasure of smelling it. I am not sure if this scent is short lived or I just didn't put enough on. I plan to figure that out soon though. If there isn't a longevity issue, I would HIGHLY recommend that everyone who likes AdP Colonia to pick this stuff up. Their interpretation is one that I may like better than the Fine version.

A la Mancha, I received an imitation ivory blank to make my first scales. I think I am going to use it to replace my Keen Kutter scales. The person who replaced them originally didn't use washers on the outside and the head has sunken into the scale. Now I just need to get my tools and some time to do it. With as much as we have going on, it probably wont be until after we come back from Denver.

Great shave Don! Now I'm excited to get this soap in...LOL!

Looking forward to seeing the results on the Keen Kutter work!

Nice shave.

Have fun on your visit here to Denver. The weather has been good lately.

I can't wait to see how the scales come out.

I almost added that Colonia Balsamica to my order, but the "balsamica" is what deterred me. I couldn't figure what this one was going to smell like. Sounds like it's the one I should have gotten, instead of the yuzu.

Again Playing catch up Don. BTW I do like the vanishing cream salve more, less menthol and more mint.. going to pick up a tub, Thanks !

Shovelhead - GEM Personna
Sorrentino Tuxedo
PannaCrema Nuavia Nera
LT VC / leftover lather

I tried another of the Nuavias today. This time it was the Nera. First off, this scent is great, but it is VERY weak. I feel generous giving the SOS as a 1/5. If this was a stronger scent, it would definitely give most soaps a run for their money. The performance of the soap though was great. No surprise there though. I have started using this Tuxedo more and more. It is a great performer. I cannot wait to get the next one. Eric does amazing work. The 3 passes left me DFS+ as I did not pay enough attention and missed a spot under my chin. For some reason, this area seems to be getting harder to get for me. I do not know why. Maybe I am just not concentrating enough. Will have to change that.

A la Mancha, it will be a busy weekend. I have a 5k Mud Run tomorrow (Mudders Day Madness 5k), baseball/softball, then Mother's Day on Sunday. Wish me luck on the run, I haven't trained at all and am out of shape. I will be happy if I make it in under 50 minutes. Tammy told me that the only thing she wants for Mother's Day is for the house to be spotless. So I have a lot of cleaning to do Saturday evening.

nice shave with the Nera, Dave, though that's disappointing that it's only a 1/5 on the SoS. Good to see that SWMBO is being practical in her Mothers day request...sounds like something mine would ask for as well.

Getting the house spotless is always difficult. Kids take toys out quicker than I can put away, and the puppy always thinks it is time to play when putting her toys away.

Good luck on the mud run!

Caught up on some great shaves, Don! I have been jonesing for the Nuavia Nera, so I am glad you posted your thoughts. For such a light scent I cannot see spending the money. Good luck on the run!
