Quijote's search for BBS

Oh man! Sorry!
nice shave with the Nera, Dave, though that's disappointing that it's only a 1/5 on the SoS. Good to see that SWMBO is being practical in her Mothers day request...sounds like something mine would ask for as well.
Getting the house spotless is always difficult. Kids take toys out quicker than I can put away, and the puppy always thinks it is time to play when putting her toys away.

Good luck on the mud run!
Caught up on some great shaves, Don! I have been jonesing for the Nuavia Nera, so I am glad you posted your thoughts. For such a light scent I cannot see spending the money. Good luck on the run!

Thanks everyone. I haven't seen anyone who has bought a full tub yet on this site or the other. So, I don't know if it could just be this sample or if they are all like that.

Nice shave Don, Surprised on the SOS and glad I did not pull the trigger on the Nera then

Thanks. I am really hoping for their sake that it was just an anomaly and they have better SOS now.

Great shave Don!

Good luck on the mud run!

Thanks Craig.

I survived. I have ran this race 4 years now and this was my worst showing. I have done as well as 36 minutes. Today's time was 52 minutes. I am out of shape. I have to start using the gym at work.

DG soaps have never disappointed me. I almost bought the same flavor; looks like I'll have to try it someday. Their AS are very nice, too.

Straight Shave #55

Waterville Cutlery
Sorrentino Tuxedo
PannaCrema Verde
LT VC / leftover lather

Well, yesterday morning, I was not able to shave yet again. The kids beat me awake and I wanted to hang out with them so that Tammy could sleep in a little on Mother's Day. Didn't quite work out, but she was able to just lounge for a bit. Early in the afternoon though, I couldn't take it any more and had to get a shave in. I didn't want to get too close because I wanted to be able to shave this morning too. I limited myself to just 2 passes. Well, those 2 passes went so well, that I was DFS+ with many places easily reaching the BBS level. I am only calling it DFS because of 2 spots, a part of my neck just above the Adam's apple and the mustache area. Unfortunately, this morning, there was enough to shave and did not shave yet again. The Verde is indeed a great scent. It is very enjoyable, but I think I enjoy the Rossa more. The Rossa also lingers more after the shave making it so that I can use the lather for aftershave as well.

A la Mancha, it was a very busy but very enjoyable weekend. This week is going to be hectic at work getting ready for vacation, but it will be worth it. I did get word though that the timeshare we are staying at was actually reserved from Saturday to Saturday instead of Fridays like we were originally told. So the wife and I now have to find a hotel for Friday night when we get in. Not a big deal, I just wish we were told about it before now. My sister-in-law is also running in the half marathon, but only staying for the weekend. She finally told us exactly where we are all staying too. It isn't actually in Denver, it is in Winter Park. A nice resort town about an hour west of Denver. Should be a nice change of pace.

I liked all the Nuavia scents and would use them all, but Rossa is the only one I pulled the trigger one.

I was born in Colorado a learned to ski in those Rockies. Should have some beautiful views Don.

Getting caught up Don. Sounds like you all are going to enjoy your time in Denver.

Great shave. I hope you have fun in Winter Park. Make sure to bring jackets and long pants. We have been getting some cool spring weather.

I will probably end up going with the Rossa too.

Should make some good additions to the nature pic thread.
Jumping in and catching up, Don - great reads!
Thanks Brad, glad to have you around.

Nice shave Don! Hope you enjoy your time in the mountains, for sure.
That is the plan.

I have been checking out the weather and it sounds marvelous. I think the only shorts I am going to end up bringing are work out and swim shorts.

Straight Shave #56

Waterville Cutlery
Made Rite 1000
DG Colonia Balsamica
LT VC / CL Colonia Balsamica AS

Today, I decided to return to the Colonia Balsamica. I do truly love this scent. I just wish it was longer lasting. It isn't as fleeting as the first time I used it, but I have to make a conscious effort to be able to catch any whiff of it. I thought about trying the EdT, but I am just worried that it wouldn't last either. Maybe after the vacation. The Waterville gave me 2 passes today for a DFS-, I think I need to touch up the edge with the balsa. It has been a while since any of my razors got that treatment.

A la Mancha, somehow, the window over the passenger side rear quarter panel on my wife's SUV was broken yesterday. I am thinking that maybe someone hit a rock while mowing. So, after I got home from taking my son to Cub Scouts yesterday, I had to run to the store and get some packing tape and put many layers on there. I wanted to make sure to tape the inside and outside so that it doesn't get any worse and keep it as water tight as possible. The technician will be able to fix it on Wednesday. But the amount they charge for that small piece of glass is crazy. Over $400 to replace it. And I checked with my insurance, because it isn't the windshield and under my deductible, there is nothing that they can do to help. Oh well. Then last night, Elijah's allergies got so bad, he broke out in hives. I gave him some Benadryl and he settled down and went to sleep. This morning the hives are gone, but we have to look at possibly changing his OTC allergy meds if this continues.

Have a great day everyone!

Catching up, and I’m really surprised at the Nera’s weak SOS (glad now that I’ve passed on it).....and bummer about the window and your son’s allergy outbreak.

Geez Don that is horrible on the allergies. I hope he finds relief soon. He must have been miserable.
