Quijote's search for BBS

Just caught up, at least the FIL struggle is over. Time to enjoy the Sunday!

I have a 28mm and I can't see ever going any larger than that. Most of my brushes are in the 24 to 26 range.

A quick shave today as everyone slept in. I went with a tub today to try to load enough instead of a sample. I definitely did. I ended up with a great lather and a 2 pad shave that resulted in DFS+.

Will go more in detail about things later. Been a busy day.

No shave today. Allergies have been making me really tired lately, so I have been sleeping more and didn't give myself enough time today.

Yesterday, I used one of my new Graydog brushes, it was great. It made more lather than I could possibly handle. I think these 2 brushes will come in handy to help me kill soaps. But they have already shot up to 2 of my favorites. In my opinion, Maggards make the best value priced badgers. Granted, I have never used any of the super premium brushes, but these things feel great. Strong backbone with very soft tips.

A la Mancha, yesterday was my last day teaching some of my kids at church. We do an every other month schedule to keep the teachers from getting burnt out and next month, the kids that will be going into 2nd grade next year will be moving up to the next class. But this week was more of a fun week since it was the 5th Sunday of the month. Every time this happens, we do something called kids helping kids. The kids in my class got to personalize and pack duffel bags for kids who have to go into the foster care system. After church, we then went to play lazer tag to celebrate my son's birthday that was earlier in the week. Grandma then took us all out to an early dinner and then back to her house for cupcakes. We got home just in time for them to take their showers and get ready for bed. It was a hectic, but fun day.

Sounds like a great day Don!

Just wondering have you used the Stirling Badger brush? Wonder how it compares to a Maggards'. I have the Stirling Badger, Boar, and Synthetic. Their Synthetic and Maggards' Synthetics (I have 2) are pretty close in performance.

Allergies have been rough this year so far for my household. Thankfully we have rain today so I feel relief with the rain knocking down the pollen.

I have not used the Stirling badger. My other badger experience is a Shavemac Finest. This is around the same softness, much more dense with more backbone.

My problem is that it rained for so long hereand is now drying out, so everything is blooming.
That tub of Naked and Smooth as GOT to be close to the end?!
Nope. I am not a heavy loader normally. I even used this exclusively for my first 2 months as it was my only one. I could probably stretch it for another 50 shaves if I wanted to. I will only get about 30 out of it probably though. And besides, I would hate to deny you the pleasure of reading about it. I know how much you love it.

Today, I went for the Graydog on the Cella because these brushes can really eat the soap. I had some more time this morning, so after my 2 passes, I did a touch up. I am happily sitting here BBS. I did get a little seepage in my mustache area, but I attribute that to changing up (forgetting) my pre shave routine. I showered last night, so didn't have to this morning, and forgot all about washing my face until I was already lathered. I just let the lather sit on a little longer than normal to try to soften it.

A la Mancha, last night, I took both kids to the Cub Scout meeting. This wasn't a normal meeting though, they were meeting at a farm. They got to hang out with goats, chickens, and learn about making honey. Now Elijah wants to get a bee hive. He saw how much honey you could make and got excited about that. I know he will not want to do the work though, so I quickly changed the subject.

A personal source of honey would be pretty cool. But the stings and all make spending $15 at the farmer's market worth it.

I love honey as much as the next guy, but being allergic to bee stings really prevents me from thinking about getting a hive. Nice shave today also!

Nice shave.

You should get the hive. (As long as you don't mind picking up the slack... Or perhaps it could be a shared father/son bonding thing?) The world needs more bees.
