Nice shave with the Waterville Don! Good news about He Who Shall Not Be Named being shunned from the den too. It'll be good to get back on seduce. ..my kids do the same thing.

Oh MY! AUTOCORRECT STRIKES AGAIN! Lol...I didn't realize that until your quote.

LOL, I know. I couldn't help myself though.

Round Guard Shovelhead - GEM Personna (9)
Graydog special 26mm 70/30
Tabac
LT VC / Chatillon Lux La Foret de Liguest

This combo just gave a great shave, spoiler alert, it was a BBSG. First of all, the razor, it is magnificent. Definitely the king of my razors at this time. But that is a mouthful. So I was thinking about naming some of my stuff. I was thinking of possibly the King of Spades for it. The brush. This is my first time using it and it was wonderful. I wasn't sure how it would lather, so I did a full 30 second load thinking that the boars I have had are real lather hogs until they were broken in and since this one is 30% boar, there is a chance. Well, that worry was unfounded. I made enough lather for at least 3 shaves today. And once lathered, the size of the brush became huge. I could lather from right under my nose to my chin in one horizontal paint brush stroke. This is the largest brush I have ever used. But, it was wonderful. It had just a bit of scritch to go along with the luxuriousness of the badger, but then the boar portion is not broken in yet either. The boar bristles in there really help it dig into the soap. Once those bristles break in, I suspect it will be glorious. I know it has only been one use of this thing, but I already highly recommend that everyone here gets one. The Tabac was traditional Tabac. It worked very well. I followed it up with the Vanishing cream and then what is probably my favorite scent. the La Foret de Liguest. This is a dark fougere that I cannot get enough of. It is a real shame that this is a seasonal scent from them.

A la Mancha, my son was in a hurry to get to school today. He wanted to get there early because he was told by one of his friends that when you get there, they will turn on an episode of Wild Kratts (a kids show about animals for you non parents of young kids) for you. Well, I got him there about 10 minutes earlier than normal because I know he wont be able to get into his classroom until his teacher gets there and I didn't want him to be just sitting around bored and disappointed.

Have a great day everyone.

Great shave and read Don!

That new brush is looks great!

Good review of the 70/30 knot. Who makes the knot?

Thanks. Maggards makes it.

The knot sounds heavenly!
It is a great one. No complaints yet. Can't wait to see how it breaks in.

Great shave. I have a bit of brush envy.
Thank you. It has vaulted to become one of my favorites.

I have a problem. Too many brushes for my primary den location. I do not know which 2 to vote off of the island to go live in the secondary location.

Granted, this is a good problem to have. I just love them all too much.

Don't move any out...you have enough vertical space to put a half shelf in for just your brushes. ALL THE STORAGES IS MINE!

Maybe not a shelf, but that gives me another idea. Take a couple and put magnets in the bottom, them put some metal on the top and have them hang upside down. Hmmm...

That is a cool idea. I also like the idea of mounting magnet strips on one side of the cabinet to hold blades between uses (unless the cabinet is easily child accessible, obviously).

Straight Shave #50

Waterville Cutlery 6/8
Graydog 26mm 2 Band
CBL Vegan Damascus
LT VC / Barbasol Pacific Rush

I really need to start listening to my gut. I told myself that I should lather off of a puck rather than use a soap that I have to smear in the bottom of the bowl. I started off soaking my brush and then once I went to lather, the brush was holding a lot more water than I was used to. The resulting lather was too thin. If it was anything other than a CBL soap, I would have had to start over. The resulting shave made me be even more careful and I didn't dare to try the 3rd pass, but it left me with a DFS that had surprisingly little irritation. The Barbasol did let me know that I didn't have add much protection as normal though.

A la Mancha, the FIL left this morning and we are now at the baseball field for Elijah's first game of the season. Arabella's game is later today. Luckily, they are at different times since they play at different locations.

Why is it when we are attempting something that requires pretty much most of our concentration and our gut tells us not to, that we go ahead anyway?

Good shave none the less Don!

Trying to figure out why I do anything is a futile effort.

I am glad that no disasters occurred and you had a nice shave.

I hope both your kids' teams win.
Thanks. I want to find them a new league. We went from one extreme of ultra competitive (traveling team that went to state tournaments) to a church league (doesn't even keep score). But they are learning the game, team work, and most importantly having fun.

Looks like there’s room for a second shelf.
