Great read and shave Don!

Happy birthday to your son!

And yes decanting just about any aftershave into glass will change it, the VEG for sure!

Nice reads, Don. Sounds like a challenge at your place right now, but things will get better.

Happiest of Birthdays to your son. I hope you all have a great party!

And congrats on being chosen. Decant it into glass! Great stuff. I decant mine into these https://www.amazon.com/Sauce-Bottles-Black-Shrink-Bands/dp/B016DNQUY2/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1524581283&sr=8-2-spons&keywords=hot+sauce+bottles&psc=1

Happy birthday to your son. Nice shave too.

I haven't tried the Wilkie Sword soap, but it sounds like a nice one. The Veg on the other hand didn't seem to work for me. I have been told, by both Spider and Xeno, that decanting it into glass really improves it. One of these days I will give the decanted version another try.

Injector - Eversharp (7)
Omega Boar
Cella
LT VC / Fine Italian Citrus

Today, I was running late, so I just did a quick 2 pass shave. The Cella lather needed a little more work, but as I was rushing, I called it good enough. The first pass wasn't very slick, so before the second pass, I rinsed my face and left the water on there. This pass was much better. Again, not a great lather, but good enough to get the job done. I went and felt my face afterwards and I was DFS+. That works for me. There are a few areas that need the third pass to get completely smooth. The Fine did let me know that I had a subpar lather when I slapped it on though. It has been a while since I felt that much feedback. Even though this blade has a few more shaves on it at least, I think I am going to bin it. The rust on the blade, although not near the cutting surface, makes me apprehensive. I may also get a jar of alcohol to keep on hand too, that way, I can dip it in after each shave to get the water out of the tight spots.

A la Mancha, Elijah loved his birthday. He chose to have chili dogs for dinner. Then we did the whole cake and presents thing. His expressions were great as he was opening everything up.

Have a great day everyone.

Good shave. And good call on the lather after the first pass.

Glad the birthday went well.

Sorry about the sub-par lather, but nice shave in spite of that. Your Injector posts lately have made me want to show mine some love.

Nice quick shave Don!

Glad to hear the birthday party was a success!
Thanks. Hopefully, tomorrow I will give myself enough time for a straight shave.

Straight Shave # 49

Waterville Cutlery 6/8
Made Rite 1000
Henri et Victoria Cognac and Cuban Cigars
LT VC / Chatillon Lux Unconditional Surrender

Today, I made sure I had enough time for at least a 2 passer with the Waterville. I missed using it. Well, I got the shave in and it went very well. I have really got those first 2 passes down pretty well. The only hiccup that I had was when I was doing above the lip. I went in at a slightly different angle today and ended up not cutting as much as normal. It had slightly more S movement than normal. I could have went back and touched it up, but settled for the CCS there. I wasn't wanting to tempt Mr Murphy. Everywhere else is DFS. The after shave went on and very little sting. I have to wonder if it is just left over from yesterday's shave.

Speaking of Mr Murphy, he tried to make me drop my razor in the sink. When I was rinsing it, the water hit the blade just right and made it rotate and slide a little. Luckily, I had used alum on my fingers, so they had a better grip than normal or else it may have ended up dropped.

A la Mancha, the visit from the FIL is going well. We have hit our stride. No arguments or unpleasantness has ensued. I got word that Tammy's sister is going to be arriving late tomorrow night and they will be leaving Saturday morning. So, just a couple more nights and everything will be back to normal in the house. This will be a good thing because even though we haven't had any issues, the revised sleeping arrangements (he is in my son's bed and my son is on my daughter's trundle) my kids have not been getting the right amount of sleep and are acting like it. My son has melted down each of the last 3 days. Today, it started early. He refused to take his inhaler and allergy meds, almost hitting me in protest.

You throw off the routine with children it can all go down hill. I am sure you are ready to get back to normal.

Nice shave also by the way.

Good shave and read Don!

Sounds like you have this part of the straight dialed in. Glad that Mr. M. was thwarted at you place, I wasn't so lucky.

Nice shave with the Waterville Don! Good news about He Who Shall Not Be Named being shunned from the den too. It'll be good to get back on seduce. ..my kids do the same thing.
