Pens, inks and related.....

Much like my shave soaps, I had acquired FAR too many samples, so I'm looking forward to working through these last 16 samples and then just having my small collection of full bottles.

I banned my first ink recently. I’ve had a bottle of Private Reserve Tanzanite for several years now, using it occasionally. The color is a fantastic blue-purple shading more towards blue. The problem is that it takes absolutely forever to dry. It’s also pretty wet and turns the inside of the cap to blue colored swamp. Nothing like a surprise of blue stained hands. So I’m finally done with it. I swear that I can’t stand inks that misbehave. As a comparison, I’ve been using Kaweco Royal Blue in an Ice Sport and it’s rock solid, though boring. Very well-behaved, quick-drying and much better to use.

I truly never understood people who were bending over backwards to get inks like Baystate Blue to work for them. I don't really want to worry about permanently staining my pen, clothes, counter, sink, etc. when filling or using a pen. Understand that there are various archival reasons for iron gall inks and the like, but these oversaturated inks just drove me crazy.
