Came across a few parker 51's. they are in ok condition, would like to get them refurbished but not sure where to get that done at. I would really like a 51 in cordovan brown but havent been able to find one.

Beauties! A gent refurbished this Eversharp Symphony for me. These are the "before" pictures. It looked even better when it came back.

It is a lever-filler from the 1950s, as I understand. It belonged to my Bride's dear uncle. The pen restorer did a great job, and his prices were reasonable. He even replaced the ink sac. I can private message his info to you if you are interested.

I used it a with a fast-drying ink (Noodler's Bernanke Black) since I'm a lefty. It has an extra fine nib and wrote well for a 70-year-old pen. A few days ago, I returned it to the original owners's son. He was over the moon to get it.

The pen and ink I am using for my Christmas Cards. Hero model 3013. The nib is medium, IIRC. Loaded with Diamine Poppy Red. I forget how much I paid for the pen, but it wasn't more than a few dollars on eBay several years ago. It is performing very well with this ink.

It was time to replace the pocket notebook with a new pad, so I decided to go back to the plain paper Field Notes (the Expedition books use Yupo synthetic paper and will not take up fountain ink of any type), so I could again use my Schrade fountain pen. I guess we'll see how long I keep this configuration as in the past I have had the cap come off in my pocket (I just clip my edc pen to the corner of my pocket) and ruin some pants.

Setup:
Schrade Tactical Fountain Pen (generic German ink)
Field Notes "Pitch Black" Edition
Recycled Firefighter Inspector cover

Had to give up my quest for cool fountain pens for the time being sadly…I just don’t write often enough, so I dried out the last couple full cartridges I attempted to use.

Been sticking to my Refyne Copper and Brass bolt pens though…these babies work like a charm! They’ve developed a nice patina too!

I have been relatively lucky on the pen AD. I have a few, like my Lamy 2000 and a few older Waterman’s. I used them a bunch when I had my agency, but since retiring and going into barbering, not writing as much, and that has switched over to shears. I should have stayed in the FP rabbit hole, as it was cheaper LOL. Maybe this year I will pick up a few @NurseDave will be my Kryptonite
