Pens, inks and related.....

I am considering getting a new pen, but I can't decide on which one. My top 3 that I am looking into are a Pilot Custom 74 in M nib, Montegrappa Elmo in 1.1 stub nib, and Nettuno 1911 in F nib. My budget is $200, so I can't get more than 1 of these. Any suggestions? Something else in that range you would suggest? My biggest requirement is I want something with a grip around 10mm or so. Smaller than that hurts my hand after writing for a while.

Pilot would get my vote, great nibs and large converters, and 100% reliable even if unused for a while, due to the sealing system.

That is a gorgeous pen.
Thank you! It also writes quite nicely. I was a little worried as a few reviewers had complained of hard starts and dry feeds. Got it home, inked up with Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Black and went to work. No issues at all. It has a No.6 Steel Nib in Fine.

So my stepdad went to an estate sale and one of the lots that he bought had a box with 3 fountain pens in it. He gave me the pens this past weekend. They are all Sheaffer, but that’s all I know. Anyone have any info on these?

Shaeffer pens are one of the more popular vintage pens. I really do not know much about them though. I am pretty sure that they were the first to introduce a filling system where you don't have to eye dropper full them. That one looks like it could be the Shaeffer Snorkel from the 50s.

The green beauty in the middle is a Parker 61. And the arrow is in tact! Great pens Tim! Top one is a Sheaffer. Don’t know about the bottom one myself.

Thank you.

Here’s what I found. The first is a Sheaffer Pen For Men. It has a snorkel filling system. The second is a Parker 61 and the last one is a Sheaffer School Pen v3.
