Great shave this morning. Returned to MacDuff's Soap Co. and their excellent "Back Country Bourbon" shave soap. Wonderful warm, woody, boozy, spicy scent with excellent lather built with the Simpson "Polo" PL 10 Best Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '56 Gillette "Gold Tip" and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by Derby City SMall Batch Shave Tonic aftershave splash & Cremo "Spice & Black Vanilla" EdC.
The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Got the Christmas tree postponed for another week.

Great shave this morning. Returned to the vintage Crabtree & Evelyn "Crabtree & Evelyn for Men" shave soap. Great woody, spicy, "80's powerhouse" type scent with excellent lather built with the Wild West Brushworks "Bisbee" Sweet Spot Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '59 Gillette "Fatboy" and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by Aqua Velva "Musk" aftershave splash.
The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Chill Sunday on tap. Some laundry and general cleaning around the house.

Great shave this morning. Returned to Maggard Razors and their "London Barbershop" shave soap. Nice if unimaginative scent with excellent lather built with the Wild West Brushworks "Violet Swirl" Sweet Spot Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '58 Gillette Super Speed and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by Jack Black Post Shave Cooling Gel.
The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Doctor appt. this morning hence the low strength scent choices.

Great shave this morning. Returned to CBL Soaps and Chris' excellent "Hombres Barber Shop" shave soap & tonic. Incredible scent and lather built with the Paladin "Somerset" 2-Band Select Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '67 Gillette Super Speed and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by the matching aftershave tonic and vintage Avon "Black Suede" EdC

It's "Women of Rock Wednesday" and today I'm going with a couple from Portland, Oregon rockers, Quarterflash. Hope you enjoy.
Great shave this morning. New soap day with the arrival of "Opulence Harbinger" shave soap & splash from Hendrix Classics & Co. This is one of the most strongly scented soaps / splashes that I've ever encountered. The splash is easily cologne strength, probably closer to EdT strength. Definitely a rager! Not sure what the individual scent notes are, but on the whole it reminds me a lot of "L'Homme" from Yves Saint Laurent. Great lather built with the Wild West Brushworks "Reload" 2-Band Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '49 Gillette Executive and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by the matching aftershave splash.
The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Clear skies today after the rain and gloom of yesterday. However, the passing front will usher in colder temps and high winds through Friday. It'll be nice to have a break from the unseasonal warmth we've had.

Great shave this morning. Returned to Taylor of Old Bond Street and their excellent "Oud" shave cream. Warm, spicy, resinous oud scent with saffron notes and rose. Perfect on a cool day like today. Exceptional lather as always from TOBS, built with the Saponificio Varesino 2.0 Manchurian Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '49 Gillette Aristocrat and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by Czech & Speake "No.88" aftershave splash & EdC.
The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Not the best night's sleep last night. A great shave and coffee are helping.

Best shave of the week this morning. Returned to Soap Commander (a local company) and their excellent "Thanksliving" LE shave soap. Warm, spicy, fruity scent with notes of apple, orange and clove along with super thick and cushioning lather built with the Zenith B33 Boar brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '56 Gillette Super Speed and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by vintage MEM Co. English Leather "Spiced" aftershave splash & Amouage "Jubilation XXV" EdP. Was great using the Zenith boar again. It had been a while and I'd forgotten what great brushes they are.
The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: How my day went yesterday... Great day at work. We had our company Thanksgiving luncheon and the boss handed out our Christmas bonuses... I go home that evening and our washing machine decides to go "tits up". So, there goes the Christmas bonus..
