Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Going with a relaxing ambient live stream for you today.. Hope you enjoy.

Great shave this morning. Returned to Furbo and their excellent "Blu" shave soap. Great Floid Blue scent with incredible lather built with the Paladin Somerset 2-Band Select Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '57 Gillette Red Tip and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by RazoRock "Blue Barbershop" aftershave lotion. I tell ya, if you're a fan of the original Floid Blue aftershave splash, you should give this one a try. Closest scent to the original that I've found.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Not much to report. Gutted after the abysmal showing from the Crimson Tide yesterday. Guess the best we can hope for now is a semi-decent bowl game and start to work on next year.

Hope you have a great day. :)

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

The wife and I were out running some errands yesterday, getting ready for Thanksgiving, and "Lick It Up" by KISS came on the Sirius "80's on 8" channel. I was immediately transported back to when this first came out. Growing up in the 70's, the band KISS were a big deal and in the early 80's they decided to take off their signature make up. Lick It Up was their first album post face paint, so I'm going with a couple from that album today. Hope you enjoy.

Great shave this morning. Returned to Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements and their excellent "Hatha" shave soap & splash. Great scent! Very dry with notes of woods, sage and incense. Almost medicinal in aspect. Incredible lather built with the Simpson "Polo" PL 10 Best Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '49 Gillette Executive and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by the matching aftershave splash and Czech & Speake "Frankincense & Myrrh" EdP.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Tired this morning. Rough night. Felt like I was waking up every thirty minutes. A great shave and coffee are helping.

Hope you have a great day. :)

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Going with a couple today from Rock Gods, Led Zeppelin. Hope you enjoy.

Great shave this morning. Returned to Geo. F. Trumper and their excellent "Spanish Leather" shave cream, skin food & EdC. Great soapy leather scent with incredible lather built with the Paladin "PK-47" 2-Band Select Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the new '49 Gillette Milord and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by the matching skin food and EdC.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Better night's sleep last night thankfully. They're delivering the new washer today. When did washers and dryers get so high tech? Am I finally turning into one of "those" older people?

Hope you have a great day. :)

Yes Mark, you are. Welcome to the club. With luck, your new washer will give you 10 years or so. I bought a Whirlpool washer/dryer set in 1980 for ~ $500 that worked for 30+ years. The newer models aren’t as durable. ☹️

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

It's "Women of Rock Wednesday" and today I'm going with a couple today from singer, songwriter, actress, Anna Mae Bullock. Or, as she's professionally known, Tina Turner. Hope you enjoy.

Great shave this morning. Returned to Soap Commander and their excellent "Goodwill" LE shave soap. Great scent with notes of fir, citrus and berries. Incredible lather built with the Paladin "Falstaff" 2-Band Select Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '58 Gillette Super Speed and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by Pino Silvestre Original Moisturizing Aftershave and Ralph Lauren "Polo Modern Reserve" EdT.

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Catch-up post since I didn't post yesterday's shave

11-28

For Thanksgiving I went Old School and returned to my vintage Shulton "Old Spice" shave soap, AS & EdC. Thought it would go well with the luncheon with the in-laws. I was right! Got several compliments. Great scent and excellent lather built with the Simpson "Chubby" 1 Silvertip Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '58 Gillette English No.58. Gotta say, this razor is rapidly becoming one of my favorites! I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by the matching splash and EdC

Broke out the seasonal Christmas / Winter scents yesterday and today I decided to go with Barrister & Mann "Nordost" soap and AS. Fantastic scent (one of my wife's faves) and excellent lather built with the Riva Brushes Silvertip Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '58 Gillette English No.58 (yesterday's have was so good I decided to stick with it for today), and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by the matching aftershave splash.

No music? No Happy Hogan Report? Mark, are you OK? If you are reading this, The Cadre strenuously urge you to call 911 NOW!! 😧
Quick post today. Getting things prepped for tomorrow. Having my brother, sister and niece over tomorrow for dinner. Kind of our own Thanksgiving. I’m smoking a turkey breast, a pork tenderloin and some chub bologna

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

It's "Synthwave Saturday" so here's a live stream for you. Hope you enjoy.

A late but great shave today. Returned to Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements and their excellent seasonal release, "Space Nog" shave soap and splash. Great scent mash-up between spicy bay rum plus eggnog. Doesn't sound like the two would work, but they pull it off beautifully. Incredible lather built with the Simpson "Chubby" 2 Super Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '49 Gillette Milord and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by the matching aftershave splash.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Great evening with the fam. Smoked turkey turned out great as well as the pork loin and smoked bologna. The wife made sweet potato casserole, my niece made green bean casserole, my brother made the dressing and chicken & dumplings and my sister brought dessert which was TWO cakes! One Red Velvet and one German Chocolate. Sooooo much food but boy, was it good. We had enough leftovers so that everyone could have meals for several days. We're planning on getting together again Christmas Day for a Puerto Rican dinner. Pasteles, arroz con gandules, beans. May try to make a traditional pernil.

Hope you have a great day. :)

Are you making the pasteles or buying them?
Buying them. I’ve made them before and it is a LOT of work. There’s a restaurant close by that make and sell them. Supporting a small, local business and saving myself a lot of work, mess and clean up? Win, win!
