Going with a couple from English Electronic Rock group, Depeche Mode today. Hope you enjoy.



Great shave this morning. Returned to First Line Shave and their excellent homage to Initio "Oud For Greatness", "Illustrious Oud" shave soap, aftershave splash & EdP. Scent-wise this stuff is a rager! Massive longevity, projection and sillage. Tread lightly when using it. I can only imagine what the Initio frag is like. Fantastic lather built with the Wild West Brushworks "REM Cycle" Sweet Spot Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '61 Gillette Fatboy and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by the matching aftershave splash and EdP.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Another chilly morning. 25° out the door this morning. Starkly colder temps coming next week. Lows in the single digits with highs only in the 20's. Brrrrr! 🥶

Closing out the workweek with a couple from Journey. Hope you enjoy.



Best shave of the week (so far) this morning. Returned to the vintage Colgate Cup Soap. Very little scent left, but incredible lather built with the Ever-Ready 2-Band Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the British Gillette #58 Set and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by Pierre Cardin "Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur" aftershave lotion and EdC.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Not much to report. Finished up the retirement seminar yesterday. Feeling good about the situation, but still looking for ways to improve the situation for Crystal and me.

Great, late morning shave. Returned to the vintage Crabtree & Evelyn for Men soap. Fantastic scent with incredible lather built with the Semogue SOC Boar brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '67 Gillette Super Speed and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by Aqua Velva "Musk" Aftershave & Cologne.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Wow! Could tell it's been a while since I last played out live. Good show overall. Will take some time to get things dialed back in. Ended up playing from 7pm to 11pm so I was thankful for that. Those 9pm to 1am gigs are behind me now. Making a pot of jambalaya tonight and getting ready for the deep cold that coming! 🥶

Getting the workweek kicked of with a couple of classics from the Steve Miller Band. Hope you enjoy.



Great, shave this morning. Returned to the Stirling Soap Co. and their "Stirling Green" shave soap. Wonderful green, spicy scent with incredible lather built with the Simpson "Chubby" 2 Super Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '69 Gillette Super-109 and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by Coty "Aspen" Aftershave gel & Cologne.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: 12° when I walked out of the house this morning but accounting for the 15mph ~ 18mph wind, it feels like -1°! I don't like it!! 😖

A couple today from one of my all-time favorite musicians. Multi-instrumentalist and composer, David Arkenstone. Hope you enjoy.



Great, shave this morning. Returned to Cooper & French and their excellent "Old Goat" shave soap. Fantastic homage to Old Spice with incredible lather built with the Ever-Ready 200 2-Band Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the 40's Gillette Aristocrat and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by vintage Avon "Spicy" Aftershave lotions & P&G "Old Spice" EdC.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Still cold but the wind isn't anywhere near as bad as it was yesterday.
