Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Going with a couple from English New Wave band, Wang Chung. Hope you enjoy.

Great shave this morning. Returned to my vintage Yardley shave soap with its phenomenal lather. No fragrance left, but the lather quality more than makes up for that. Two passes (plus touch-up) with the '59 Gillette Fatboy and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed Paul Sebastian "PS" aftershave lotion, EdC & some Clubman talc.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: I loathe middle-of-the-week holidays. The next day always feels like Monday. 😠

Hope you have a great day. :)

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Closing out the workweek with a couple from Jacksonville Florida rockers, 38 Special. Hope you enjoy.

Phenomenal shave this morning! Returned ETHOS Grooming / @Dragonsbeard and Frank's excellent "Russian Tea" soap and splash. Great scent with notes of lemon, orange, cinnamon, clove and tea with super thick and slick lather built with the Wild West Brushworks "Cu29" Sweet Spot Badger Brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '57 Gillette Red Tip and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by the matching skin food splash & Burberry "London for Men" EdT.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: TGIF!!!

Hope you have a great day. :)

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

It's "Synthwave Saturday" so here's a live stream for you. Hope you enjoy.

Late post but a great shave to start the day. Returned to Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements and their excellent Skin Bracer homage, "Shave Chaser". Spot on dupe of the juice with phenomenal lather built with the new Simpson "Chubby" 3 Best Badger Brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '67 Gillette Super Speed and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by Mennen "Skin Bracer" aftershave splash, Clubman talc & Floris "No.89" EdT.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Taking down all the Christmas decorations. Always kind of sad after the holidays have come to an end but I'm glad they're down. Wasn't in the market for a new brush.. Oh, who the hell am I kidding? I'm ALWAYS in the market for a new brush! Kinda stumbled on this one though. Never intended to get a Chubby 3, but the price was so ridiculously low (< $200), I had to get it.

Hope you have a great day. :)

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Going with a relaxing ambient stream for your Sunday. Hope you enjoy.

An adequate shave today. My Feather Artist Club razor arrived and I used it for the first time this morning. After reading some of comments about various blades, I got a pack of the KAI Captain Protouch blades (with the guard) to use with it. Not the greatest shave, but it's been ten years (or more) since I last used a straight. BBS results on my face, but still had some stubble left on my neck area. I also opted for a sink shave instead of my normal shower shave as I assumed (and rightly so) this shave session would take a little longer than with a DE. For lather I chose an old reliable in C.O. Bigelow. Nice slick and cushioning lather built with the Simpson "Polo" PL-10 Best Badger brush. Three passes and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by Pinaud "Clubman" aftershave lotion and talc. Opted to go with the Floris "No.89" EdT again because I haven't used it in a long time and it's such a timeless fragrance.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Getting ready for the cold blast tomorrow and through most of the week. Covered the outdoor water spigots. A few flurries expected but no accumulations expected.

Hope you have a great day. :)

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

In line with my shave today, I'm going with some dark, monastic music from the far future world of Warhammer 40,000. Hope you enjoy.

Great shave this morning. Returned to Grooming Dept. and their excellent "Incense & Oud" shave soap. Wonderful scent and lather built with the Paladin "Falstaff" 2-Band Select Badger Brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '56 Gillette Super Speed and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by Ariana & Evans "Incense & Oud" aftershave splash & Comme des Garcons "Avignon" EdT.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Dark, woody, smoky, resinous goodness today! Gotta save shaves like this for the winter months!

Hope you have a great day. :)

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Going with a couple of classics from David Bowie for your Tuesday. Hope you enjoy.

Great shave this morning. Returned to Barrister and Mann and their excellent "Fougère Classique" shave soap & splash. Fantastic scent and super thick and slick lather built with the Simpson "Chubby" 2 Super Badger Brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '49 Gillette Executive and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by the matching aftershave splash & Rogue Perfumery "Fougère L’Aube" EdT.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Not much to report. Gonna be cold all week and into the weekend. They're giving the possibi;ity of snow and ice for Friday. Snow's fine. Ice however...

Practically no scent left and, unfortunately, no detectable menthol cooling.
I've been able to find a few menthol pucks. Only one of them had any scent left, but it was actually pretty strong. Smelled kinda like a tin of altoids. But there was no cooling sensation when used. And the scent lasted only a couple of shaves and was gone. I think the menthol kinds seeped out of the puck over time and the only think remaining was just clinging to the surface.

Didn't take anything away from the lather quality though.

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

It's "Women of Rock Wednesday" and today I'm revisiting Canadian rockers, The Birthday Massacre. Hope you enjoy.

Best shave of the week (thus far) this morning. Returned to Saponificio Varesino and their excellent "Cosmo" shave soap & ASL. Wonderful scent and incredibly slick and cushioning lather built with the SV 2.0 Manchurian Badger Brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '49 Gillette Milord and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by the matching aftershave lotion, a dusting of Yardley "Gentleman" talc & Chanel "Antaeus" EdT.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Looking like we are definitely going to see a significant winter weather event in the area beginning late Thursday night / early Friday morning. They issued a Winter Storm Watch this morning and are expecting it to change to a warning tonight or tomorrow.

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Going with a couple from "Blackstarvania" native, kwasi kao. Hope you enjoy.

Today's shave edged out yesterday's for best of the week (thus far). Returned to my vintage Shulton "Old Spice" shave soap, ASL, talc & EdC. Wonderful Old School scent and fantastic lather built with the vintage Ever-Ready 200 2-Band Badger Brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the British Gillette #58 Set and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by the matching aftershave lotion, talc & EdC.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: They're backing off on the amount of frozen stuff we're forecast to get tonight / tomorrow and saying we may get more sleet/freezing rain. Yuck! Either way, it's going to be a madhouse for the next day or two.

Hope you have a great day. :)

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Snowpocalypse (well, for the area I live in) so I'm going with some appropriate tunage courtesy of the late, great Dean Martin. Hope you enjoy.

Great shave this morning. Had another shave planned but changed at the last minute, choosing instead to go with my vintage Colgate "Cup Soap" shave soap. Just the hint of a scent left (though I couldn't tell you what it's supposed to be) but super thick and slick lather built with the vintage Ever-Ready 2-Band Badger Brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '56 Gillette Super Speed and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by vintage Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur aftershave lotion, Cussons "Imperial Leather" talc & Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur EdC.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Working from home today. Crystal took Max out to check out the snow. He's never seen it before. He walked down the front steps, looked around and "noped" it right back inside the house. 😂

Hope you have a great day. :)
