Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Going with a couple today from English rockers, Level 42. Hope you enjoy.



Great shave today. New soap/splash day with the arrival of "Room 237" from First Line Shave. The soap's name is taken from the infamous hotel room in Stephen King's novel, The Shining, but the scent is straight up boozy goodness. Fantastic scent with notes of Scotch & vanilla, with dark fruits and woody notes in the base. Excellent lather built with the Rich Man Shaving No. 874 ST Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '67 Gillette Super Speed and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by the matching aftershave splash and YSL "La Nuit De L'Homme" EdT.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Rough morning. One of those where you just can't seem to get going. Almost took the day off. A great shave and coffee are helping.

It's "Women of Rock Wednesday" and today I'm revisiting Chrissie Hynde and The Pretenders. Hope you enjoy.



Best shave of the week thus far today! Returned to Noble Otter and their excellent seasonal release, 'Tis The Season" soap and splash. Excellent scent and lather built with the Wild West Brushworks HD ST Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '56 Gillette Super Speed and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by the matching aftershave splash and Burberry "London for Men" EdT.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Better morning today. Storms moving in today followed by much colder weather for the rest of the week.

Going with a couple from the late, great David Bowie today. Hope you enjoy.



Today's shave superseded yesterday's as best of the week (thus far). Returned to Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements and their seasonal release, "The Shaving" soap and splash. Another homage (like Tuesday's shave) to King's novel, The Shining (this one also references Kubrick's film). Excellent scent (sort of bay rum meets Christmas cookie) and phenomenal lather built with the Simpson "Chubby" 2 Super Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '61 Gillette Fatboy and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by the matching aftershave splash and Burberry "London for Men" EdT.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Office gift exchange today. David, one of my co-workers will be off tomorrow and I'm taking all next week off so we decided to do it today. David is a bourbon enthusiast so I had him a personalized whiskey glass set made with his initials in a wooden presentation box (also personalized). I also corrupted him into traditional wet shaving many years ago. He's also a huge Bob Dylan fan so I picked him up a tub of First Line Shaves' "Visions of Dylan" shave soap. For my supervisor Wes, who's an avid outdoorsman and hunter, I got him Cabela's 10X42 binoculars + harness set. Hope fully they'll like their gifts.

Closing out the workweek with a couple from Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. Hope you enjoy.



Yet again, today's shave beat out yesterday's for best of the week (thus far). Returned to CBL Soaps and their excellent "Russian Tea" soap and tonic. Fantastic scent and excellent lather created with the Paladin "Somerset" 2-Band Select Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '56 Gillette "Gold Tip" and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by the matching aftershave tonic and Viktor & Rolf "Spicebomb" EdT.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: After today I'll be off all next week! Looking forward to it!

It's "Synthwave Saturday" so here's a couple of live cuts from one of my favorite bands, The Midnight. Hope you enjoy.



Another phenomenal shave today. Returned to local soap makers, Soap Commander, and their excellent "Courage" shave soap. Wonderful scent and lather built with the Wild West Brushworks "Cu29" Sweet Spot Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '49 Gillette Aristocrat and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by vintage MEM Co. "English Leather" aftershave splash and cologne.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Birthday eve! Trying to decide what I want to use shave-wise for tomorrow. :unsure:
