Good morning Cadre! Hope you had a pleasant evening.
Let's rock out this morning! Going all the way back to 1978. Van Halen released their self-titled debut album. On this album was the song "Eruption". The rock guitar landscape would be forever changed. Hope you enjoy!
Great shave this morning. Went with Phoenix Shaving again today, this time with their "Blue Samhain" soap & AS. Great lather and scent. Notes of sandalwood, burnt sugar, bourbon and pumpkin. Three passes with the Black Beauty and I finished with the Star Jelly after shave and a spray of Viktor & Rolf "Spicebomb" EdT. Excellent!

Good morning Cadre! Hope you had a pleasant evening.
Being this close to Halloween, I wanted to feature something a little macabre, something a little weird and I can think of nothing more apropos than Alice Cooper and his 1975 album, Welcome to My Nightmare. Back then Cooper was a raging alcoholic and was actually committed to an institution once to help with his addiction. This album, I read, was partially inspired by his time spent in the place and being surrounded by the sick and the insane. Hope you enjoy.
Great shave today. Went back to Southern Witchcrafts "Desairology" soap. Three passes for a DFS++ result and I finished with a splash of vintage Avon "Deep Woods" after shave splash (+ skin food) and a spray of Rogue Perfumery "Mousse Illuminée" EdT.

He's been clean/sober now for years and is a devout Christian. Still a rocker though!Never looked into Cooper’s story before…crazy (figuratively speaking)! Strange what that genre did to its stars!

Hello Cadre! Hope you're having a great weekend.
Special journal post today, but being this close to Halloween, I wanted to feature more "spooky" music. Tonight I'm featuring the incredible 1997 album Abigail by King Diamond.
This is a concept album which tells the story of the La'Fey family; Jonathan and his new 18yo wife Miriam who inherit and moves into a mansion during the summer of 1845. While en route, they encounter a company of seven horsemen who warn the couple not to move into the house. Cautioning them with a cryptic warning that "18 will become 9". Jonathan ignores the warning and he and his wife proceed to the mansion. During the first night,, Jonathan encounters the ghost of his ancestor Count de La'Fey. The spirit escorts Jonathan to the cellar and shows him a crypt containing the mummified remains of Abigail, an evil, demonically-possessed still-born infant born of infidelity. The ghost reveals to Jonathan that his wife is carrying the spirit of Abigail and the evil spirit must not be allowed to be reborn. The Count then insists Jonathan murder his wife at once to prevent Abigail's return.. I'll leave the rest for you to find out. It's a great album!
Late post but fantastic shave this morning. Went back to Oz Shaving's "40 Crows". Great scent and lather! Two passes were all that was needed and I finished with a splash of Phoenix Shaving's "Bay Rum & Leather" after shave splash and a spray of YSL "M7 Fresh".
