Ryan, it's cool that your company supports volunteerism and that you got to spend the day doing something fun/meaningful. My company did likewise, and I had the opportunity to be a middle school math mentor for a few years.

Kudos on the home office cleanup! I did the same thing awhile back, and it feels good to be organized. I worked on my garage yesterday and plan to get out there again today. I may open a hardware to store with the stuff I'm finding tucked away. :)
We worked through our garage this autumn too and the end result was extremely satisfying! During though...different story. Thankfully my office was really the last room in the house we had to get put back together after the seemingly never-ending babyproofing saga so now that this room is done, the house feels fully put together for the first time in probably a year!

Super busy day yesterday so didn't get a chance to stop by my favorite home on the internet. My son also seems to have had a minor reaction to his flu shot so that meant we didn't get much sleep last night either. Rough go of it around here the past 24 hours but sometimes that's just the way the cookie crumbles.

On the bright side, I did decide to trade in the old Kindle for the new Paperwhite and it arrived yesterday. Amazing how much crisper the screen seems than my old one from 2012. Guess I shouldn't be surprised! Already got some good use out of the backlit screen last night before *attempting* to go to bed too.

Had a rough shave Wednesday morning with the Bluebird in my Krona, so officially decided that the blade wasn't made for my den. No point in toughing it out when I have used so many blades that deliver effortless shaves no matter what software or hardware they're paired with. Threw in a Bic SP today and was reminded how much I enjoyed this blade. Also chased my shave this morning with a sample of JV XX Indigo EdT. Definitely get the Dylan Blue profile I had previously seen reported, but that's not a bad thing. There's a reason this type of scent has been such a hot seller!

I'd be remised if I didn't thank all active duty and veterans for everything they have and continue to sacrifice for our country on this Veteran's Day. To all of you on the Cadre, thank you so much.

I look At Kindles on and off and just can’t bring myself to buy one. I can’t get over the fact that you don’t have a book in your hands, turning the pages as you go. It does seem so much more convenient though.

IKR? There are so many good choices out there in blades and software I see no need to put up with average performance either.
Life's too short to suffer with sub-par blades!

I struggled with that at first too, and honestly my original from 2012 didn't see a lot of use from 2012-2015. When I started traveling for work and spent 75% of my life overseas, the convenience factor was too great. Now I'm not traveling, but what I've come to love now is borrowing books from our library and having them delivered directly to my Kindle. The ability to borrow books, all digitally, without having to leave my house is both wild and amazing.

We made it to Friday Cadre! And thank goodness for that. It's been a long week and I'm looking forward to the weekend. Weather has been real crappy the last couple days, and we're supposed to get snow sometime today. Nothing measurable but snow nonetheless. Was hoping to spend tomorrow outside doing cleanup around the yard but it's looking pretty cold. Guess we'll see.

Currently planning to leave our son with my parents Saturday night so my wife and I can have a proper date night. Would be super nice since the last time we planned this, all 3 of us ended up sick and we cancelled. And on Sunday we're getting together with 2 other couples for "game night" which I believe will probably consist of Catan or Pan Am. Will be nice to see them as we haven't gotten together for a game night since Covid was a thing.

Broke through the bottom of my tub of Seaforth Spiced so I would think it's not long for this world! Chased with the matching toner as well as Grey Flannel EdT to match the weather outside.

Happy Monday, Cadre. Yet another weekend that went far too fast! Saturday night my wife and I had our first dinner and a movie night since 2019. Saw the last of the Craig Bond films and I loved the movie. It was so nice to have a night just to ourselves as well. It was snowing when we headed home too so we turned on Christmas music for the first time. Won't listen to it regularly until after Thanksgiving but it just felt right. Yesterday we met up with two other couples at one of their homes for a game of Ticket to Ride. We hadn't been able to get together since 2019 as well so it was great to see everyone. Couldn't have drawn up a better weekend.

Shaves were nice, again being reminded of how much I enjoy the shaves that come from a Bic SP. To celebrate the first snow of the area on Friday afternoon, I took out my Stirling Christmas Eve set for my Saturday morning shave which was wonderful. Won't be breaking this out regularly until after Thanksgiving (just like Christmas music) but man is it great stuff. The YSL Y Le Parfum sample I used today is also a very nice scent, but longevity doesn't seem to be as long as I would expect from a parfum.

Have a great Monday everyone!

We’re Ticket to Ride fans here as well. Have the Europe and Asia editions in addition to the original too.
And yes, I liked the last Bond movie as well.

Happy Hump Day Cadre. Went into the office yesterday for the first time in a few months. Got lunch with a couple colleagues which was nice. I don't miss doing that 4-5 days a week though. They're still saying we'll be back 3 days a week starting January 1 but I'm still skeptical. Guess time will tell. Been busy both at work and home this week, and oddly warm the last couple of days. Looking like Saturday might be warmer too so if that holds, it'll be time to string up the lights and garland on the front of the house. Won't turn it on until after Thanksgiving but would be nice to have it be warm while getting it hung up.

Made it to Friday, friends! This is the last workday for me before Thanksgiving as I'm taking PTO next week to extend the holiday. Really looking forward to relaxing with the family and not being logged on. Weather is still looking favorable tomorrow so planning to get the C9 lights and garland up on the front of the house. Otherwise the weekend is looking to be mostly relaxing around here.

Saw a few guys using the Fat this Friday so obviously had to follow suit. Chased with Clubman and MJ EdC and ready to get this workday over with and onto vacation time!
