At 34mm it's more of a talc brush than shaving brush I think!! But it's a mighty fun brush to use and I've had no issues getting a wonderful face lather so long as the tub allows for proper loading!

Got what I anticipate to be one of the last mows of the year done on the lawn today at lunch. Was a tough summer and it doesn't look as good as it did last year, but so it goes. I live to fight on next spring! Productive day at work today which is always a welcomed way to start the week. Planning to get back on the spin bike tomorrow morning for the first time in over a week thanks to the head cold which will be nice. Might have to enjoy a nice pour of bourbon tonight after the kid goes down for bed.

First shave with a Bluebird blade today and it wasn't one of the best. Nothing terrible, just not particularly enjoyable either. The Schick Krona is my first stop in evaluating a blade since there are few blades I've found that don't work in it. We'll see how it progresses over the next few shaves and blades but things not looking so rosy for them right now!

Inspired by @GearNoir I reached for my Bakelite Tech this morning and I will say my second shave with the Bluebird was much more enjoyable than the first. Not sure if it's one of those blades that just has a bit of a break in period or what, so will be interested to see how it progresses. Lovely shave with the Seaforth Spiced as always, chased with the one and only Mandom as well as Grey Flannel EdT.

Up and at 'em early today - have my annual wellness screening this morning so have been fasting for 12 hours aka no morning workout today. Also doing my second "pee in a jug for 24 hours" starting at 7am today to see if the potassium citrate pill they put me on helped correct my citric acid deficiency. Here's hoping, because although the drug feels expensive for what is essentially an extended-release vitamin, I'll gladly pay it if it means no more kidney stones in the future!

Lovely shave with CBL iColoniali and chased with Eroica and TdH. Eroica is interesting because I've found stuff online that likens it to Tabac. And while I can maybe see that a bit, it comes across more citrus forward to my nose with a hit of tobacco on the dry down. "Old man" scent for sure but I'm 30 going on 60 these days so I'm completely okay with that! Bluebird loaded up in my Red Tip proved to be another winning combo for this blade, so feeling more and more like it just takes that first shave to get the blade honed.

Today feels like it should be a Friday. Alas, almost there friends. I've recently gotten back into reading in the evenings before bed and the new Kindle Paperwhite 5 has caught my eye. I've been happily using my Kindle 4 since 2012 but it would be nice to have a backlit screen so I can turn the bedside lamp off and still read while the Mrs. goes to sleep. Also love that it has a warm color option as well as finally adopting USB-C so I can stop trying to find old Micro USB cables when I need to charge. Looks like Amazon will give me $15 for my old Kindle 4 plus 20% off a new Kindle through their trade in program. Sounding awfully tempting!

Back to an autumn shave this morning, with no complaints on software or hardware!
