Sunday nights shave kit.
Koraat 14 2.0
Omega 10098 Boar
Cella
Proraso Red AS

Took a break from the sample try outs. Went with one of my go to soaps.
Love my Cella 1KG of tallow soap goodness.
Good shave. Ready to get up early and take
Mrs. Fluffy to BWI. For her flight ✈️.
Hope everyone has a good Monday.
Stay tuned tomorrow will have a new to me chunk of steel. So none of you get a vote.
Fluffy out.

Yes Ulriks' take on the Iconic "14" blades is a great looking razor. And it doesn't end there. It is every bit as good as the vintage examples I have.
Although from the audible feedback probably not quite as thin of a grind. But we are talking maybe one or two thousands of an inch. Maybe I should try mic'ing them.
Still it's a coin toss as to which one to use and either way I'm a wiener.
Getting ready to head down I-95 and through Baltimore to BWI.
They had a "Nobody Shoot Anybody Weekend". Guess the criminals didn't get the memo. 3 dead and a few more wounded.
Fluffy out.

The razor came Sunday in the mail.
All the way from Spain.
In real good shape for the $ I paid.
The ad said shave ready. We all know how that is an issue. Unless buying from a trusted seller.
No biggie. The loop showed an un-finished bevel. So it took a little extra time on the stones to come around.
First shave tonight will be fun. This one got the Gokumyo 20K treatment.
Got impatient with ole Bill. But was closer than I thought. Did not take much time after I switched stones.
The wife is in St. Louis waiting for her connecting flight. Our trip down to BWI was uneventful.

Actually there were 4 killed this weekend.
Sad. I used to love going down The city.
Now I don’t go unless I’m paid. When I tell people I/we do “High Risk” security. As the locals say “it ain’t no joke”.
The Freddie Gray riots made us a lot of money. But the city is still recovering.

Nice new addition to the den!

Shocked to know this is a thing! Sad that it has to be!

First shave with the “new to me” 14.
I do so cherish them. This is my third Fliarmomica. They don’t disappoint.
If you don’t like thin singing grinds then look elsewhere. For me they are my favorite.
Shave was very nice.
@Dave in KY
Seems Maryland is getting all your leftover rain. Building an Ark to float away on. Mine will offer free passage to any young lady that wishes.
Sketti for dinner and all is well in my world.

We've had rain every day for a week+, but it's been small amounts intermittently. The ground is saturated, so if we get something prolonged we are in trouble here. It's a shame the ceasefire did not take. I was actually born in Baltimore when my father was stationed at the USCG marine inspection office there. We moved when I was just two, so I have no memory of it. My parents loved the rowhouse they owned in Rogers Forge.

Hello all.
Tuesday here on my corner of the big blue marble, was uneventful.
My neighbor on the other hand had a bad day. His eviction was finalized. All of his stuff is out on the front lawn.
Nothing says ghetto like a pile of someone's belongings out to the curb.
He seemed like a nice guy. But one of those people that never quite get's his s**t together.
I personally helped him break into his own car 4 times in two months. That's a sign that your not organized and or disciplined.
I've had my row home many moons and have see lots of neighbors come and go. It will be interesting to see what the next people are like.

Shave tonight was a simple one.
MWF soap.
Omega Boar 10098 brush.
Koraat 14 2.0 razor.
Tabac Original AS

Just cause it was simple. Does not mean it was not good. These products all are consistent winners for me.
Clean and smooth sitting in my command center. Watching the election returns in NH.

Hang in there folks. And be thankful for what you have.

It’s such a shame what’s been going on down there. The wife and I used to love taking long weekends and staying in the Harbor.

Too bad about your neighbor. Some people simply do not manage their lives well.
For my money, simple clean shaves are the best. Why complicate matters? Enjoy your shaves!

Hello Cadre.
Another pretty good day. Got some more stuff organized around the house.
Still lots more to do. 4th gen pack rat. (Recovering).
Have a tough time letting go of stuff. Then my wife and I watch an episode of Hoarders. And I gives me some fortitude to change things.
Second shave with my new Fili.
Absolutely ZERO buyers remorse.

Raining hard again here. Ground is like walking on old sponges soaked in pudding.
Thanks @Dave in KY for sharing.
Dog is starting to grow webbed feet.
Hope all is well in everyone else’s world.
Fluffy.

@Patelliott
I don't know if you have any Fili's.
When I first started shaving with straights.
I focused on inexpensive domestic razors. A few Russian razors. And a couple Solingen razors.
They are were fine and serviceable. I found that the Extra Hollow grinds became my favorites. And the 6/8ths and above started getting the most use.
It was then that Japanese razors got on my Radar. My first NOS razor was a Gold Rex. That was followed by a few more. Then the siren song and hype of the Filarmonica 14's started calling my name.
I managed to resist it long enough to order a Koraat 14 2.0 That razor is great. Ulrik makes a exceptional product and has top notch customer service as well.
A while after getting the Koraat. I started to seriously look for the original 14's at a reasonable price.
It may just be in my head but they are my "Ideal"
This one may be the last I get. Because honestly how many damn straight razors do you need? I am going to try and purge some of my razors and get down to 30.
In order to help me in this. I plan to make a rack that holds just 30 razors.
Then Instead of rooting around for them. As I have them in a couple different places. They will be on the wall and I can pick the one that strikes my fancy. And strop it up and go.
I have already made drawings and sketched out how I want to make it.
My father has some special to me wood at his house and all the tools needed to make it.
Might start sometime this week.

No I do not have any Fili's, but they are on my list. And that is really cool about the straight razor rack. I bought a cigar box and added some dividers to hold seven straights. I need to fill it up, but I am on a spending sabbatical (minus the anniversary box) until November/December.
