I forgot to log yesterday's shave, but it went well. Today's shave I wanted something fresh and cooling. It was between Proraso Green and Iron Throne and Iron Throne got the nod. I scooped out a little more than I needed, but that was just fine with me. Super slick, fantastic cushion, great post-shave feel, and a BBS finish provided by the Fromm!
I can't wait for Monday as I have a few packages coming in this week!

Thanks for reading Cadre, and I hope y'all had a great Saturday!

Well I used a few "New to Me" items tonight. 1.) The SV Desert Vetiver set that I bought from @Dave in KY. Not only did he send me this set, but some extra goodies that I am super excited about which I will talk about later in the week. As far as the soap goes, and I did not do too much of an evaluation, but I noticed a few things vs. Cosmo.
The 4.3 beta is slicker than the 4.1 or 4.2 whichever Cosmo is. The cushion is noticeably better, and it is a lot easier to lather. The scent is pretty darn strong. Much stronger than Cosmo. The aftershave felt a little more tacky, but it did absorb pretty quick and the tacky feeling went away pretty quickly too. All in all this was a joy to use!
The Vector was the other "New to Me" item. I will probably do a shave comparison with the Vector and OREN over the next two days, but right now I think the Vector is a little better. The shave was very smooth, efficient, close, and comfortable. I did order some Schick Proline blades and they should be here tomorrow. I'll go into a little more detail on the Vector vs. The OREN on Wednesday.
Great shave this evening and I am super excited for tomorrow's mail delivery too!

Thanks for reading Cadre, and I hope y'all had a great Monday!

Good Stuff Pat on the SV make sure to shake the he double hockey stick out of it and really rub into the skin, the date oil has a tendency to be a bit sticky and could be Dave's sensitivity. The Vector is a dream and looking forward to see which one you like better. for me it was no contest

My ETHOS order came in! Super excited about it as I have been wanting to try out the Fresh Lime, Melange d'argumes, and Lavender Supreme. Tonight I was torn on which one to use, but after the long hot day I had I decided to go with the Fresh Lime with the cooling agent.
First off, this soap smells amazing. Comparing it to Sprite would be an insult to it. The only thing that comes close is a delicious key lime pie. Just an incredible scent! Performance is top notch. If I am not mistaken this is Chris's Premium base with a few added ingredients, and his scent. Frank, I believe, did his skin food splash and also provided the EOS complex to go in the soap. The soap is super slick! Definitely a brain child between ETHOS and CBL! This soap has great cushion, very easy to lather, and a wonderful post-shave feel. The added cooling agent and Franks skin food makes this soap a must have for the summertime. Awesome job @CBLindsay and @Dragonsbeard I truly hope this is the first of many collaborations!
I also did a shave comparison with the OREN and Vector. Because my facial hair grows weird I shaved the left side of my face and right side of my neck with the Vector. The OREN got the right side of my face and the left side of my neck. Feeling my face and rubbing my hands in all directions I feel that the Vector got the closer shave. After the shave I used alum like usual and it lit me up a little on the areas that the Vector shaved. That could be my technique since this is only day 2 with it. The Vector was definitely more maneuverable, however changing the blade out of the OREN was far easier. I feel they are both comfortable to hold in the hand, both are well balanced, and both are a true joy to shave with. I do believe the Vector gives the better shave, but not by a whole bunch. I'm not sure the retail price points of each razor because I did get both second hand, but I paid four times as much for the Vector than the OREN. I can say that the quality of the OREN is definitely more than a quarter of the Vector. But price is subjective and I am not upset about either purchase. Both are fantastic shavers, but the Vector is slightly better.

Thanks for reading and hanging in there with me Cadre!

But the Vector Looks so much better than the Silver Bullwinke, LOL
The Vector is a very clean and sharp looking razor, no doubt about it. But for today's comparison looks were not a factor although it would not have mattered if they were. The Vector did win and I will admit that you and @Dave in KY were right. Now I'm excited for the Schick Proline blades to get in!

Nice comparison Pat! Sounds like you win either way.

Officially, the OREN is...wait for it...more expensive than the Vector...but the OREN has been on “reduced price” pretty much since it was released. The reduced price puts it at 65% the cost of the Vector.

If it's a premium product, leave it priced as one, but don't mark it up and then put it on sale indefinitely. Maybe I'm missing something??? I need to go back to sleep.

Thanks Chris. Yeah I remember seeing the OREN was originally priced at a ridiculous price, but I got mine with everything included for $45 shipped.

I agree Ben. It's too late to try and get in the minds of these manufacturers.

Good stuff from yesterday! I honestly really want to try the CBL/Ethos collaboration...but I have so much in lime and citrus already. I just wish it was in a different scent. Either way...I will likely break down at some point and get it.

@dangerousdon today I am using the Melange d'argumes. It is citrus and more of a grapefruit, but man it smells incredible! And Frank sends a small bottle of the fragrance so you can make it a little stronger. I don't know if you already have something like that.
Nope...not a grapefruit scent. That would be pretty interesting.
