Finished trying out my new ETHOS soaps and I have two other "New to me" soaps that I am saving for tomorrow and Sunday. So today I decided to use a soap I have been wanting to revisit and that is Aegyptus by Hub City Soap Company. Two reasons I wanted to re-visit this soap:
1) I made a boldish claim that I consider this an elite soap.
2) I remember really loving this scent.
So after using it again I can proudly stand by my first claim. This soap is elite in my eyes. It has a really soft and protective cushion. It has outstanding in-shave and residual slickness. It is very easy to load and build a great lather, and post-shave feel is up there with some of the best. I wouldn't put it on ETHOS or PC Nuavia level, but I think it is pretty comparable to CBL.
The scent was a little different than what I remember. Last time it was very dark and incense forward. Today it started out a little more sweet and then dried down to the incense like smell. Still a wonderful scent and I can't wait for the fall and winter when this is in my rotation a little more frequently.

Thanks for reading Cadre, and I hope y'all have a great Friday!

Which one would that be? I'm trying to fight the urge of ordering Pipe dreams and Chats with Grandpa.
Just looked to remind myself and found that it is now sold out. Red cabin in the woods was the one that sounded interesting when I looked way back when. I have to check out the newer ones but he has now.

I forgot to log some shaves, but I have been shaving. The Cigar Shop Indian soap was sent to me by @Dave in KY when he sent the SV Desert Vetiver. I love the scent of this soap a lot and may go as far as saying that it may have taken the top spot amongst Tobacco scented soaps!
This morning I attempted to use MWF and failed miserably. Soap was still slick, but it had zero cushion, so although I had a straight in my hand I decided to go with a DE instead. I am going to have to watch some videos on how to lather this soap and try out what @MilkCrate suggested.
I know my name is not Dave, but I decided to do an evening shave as well since the first shave was not even what I would consider DFS. I would say it was more along the lines of an SSS and I will leave that to your imagination. For tonights shave I used another soap that @Dave in KY sent along with the other two and it performed wonderfully. Lisa's new soap is definitely slicker, but this soap had pretty good slickness and really great cushion. The scent is definitely one for summer and is one that my wife really liked too. I do not have a coconut scented aftershave so I went with a fresh scent instead. Also, Baxter of California's balm is great for soothing any irritation and pairs wonderfully with Proraso Green.
All in all tonights shave really made up for this mornings shave and I am BBS for bed!

Homefront:
This weekend was not a bad one at all! It has been pretty busy around here lately, but today we were able to relax and catch up on some errands. still will have to run a few tomorrow before work, but that'll be alright. I spent the majority of the second half of today watching shave related videos on YouTube. I caught up on some videos and watched some others on razor restoration, and how to lap honing stones. Little man is doing good. He is a little more clingy, but we believe he is teething so that may be the reason for it. Momma is doing good too and just inquired about wet-shaving for her so I may show her how to do that in a few days or so!

Thanks for reading Cadre, and I hope y'all had a great weekend!

Pat wrangling the missus into traditional shaving? Better hide your favorites! 😂

Luckily she said she doesn't want any of my favorite soaps (darker scents) although she did say she would like to try my ETHOS Succès soap. Idk if I am willing to share my ETHOS soaps. She did say she liked the one I used tonight and my Lavender scented soaps. We'll see though!
