@GearNoir do you have issues with blade alignment with the .68?
Not with mine, no. Blades fit pretty snugly on the posts and I don’t notice any uneven exposure with my naked eye.

It could be the Rubie. I believe I’ve read previously the blade dimensions differ a little bit from the standard sizes (a little thicker, maybe a little more blade exposure?). Not 100% sure on that though.

Great shave this morning. Still had a little surprise irritation from the GC, so I will try it again with a different blade as Chris suggested. It still did not take away from the great soap and lather. The Executuve Man cologne sample paired very well with this soap and splash (both are Aventus clones) and I will probably end up getting this one too. Still amazed by Stirlings excellence.
The boar break in is going well. Last time I did this I did not have much success, but I did not do a vigorous towel rub for 10 minutes. This time I will do 3 cycles of this and see what the results are on Friday.

Thanks for reading Cadre, and I hope y'all have a great Tuesday!

Fantastic shave this morning with a new to me razor. @Maryland998 did not over hype the Fili 14's. These razors are something special. I didn't shave yesterday because I wanted to see what this razor would do with a little more growth and it shined beautifully. My Fromm 6/8 and Ralf Aust 6/8 have some trouble with that growth in some areas, but the Fili went through the whiskers like a hot knife through butter. After the first pass I was DFS and could have stopped there, but as Dave says, "where's the fun in that?" Passes two and three were a little tuggy around the chin, so it may need to visit a pasted balsa strop before the next shave, but no worries there as I will have those ready this weekend.
Another thing I tried out was the @BarberDave sponge wipe for the blade. I remembered he said he got his a Tractor Supply and while I was there yesterday I went ahead and looked for them and found them on clearance. I used it this morning and just soaked it in water really well and man have I been missing out. I always felt as if the blade felt a little draggy after I would rinse it, but the sponge wipe cleaned the razor and added the perfect amount of water for a little extra slickness.
I went with Stirling Gentleman because I have a sample of the EdT. I love the scent of this soap and splash on their own, but the EdT really takes this scent to a whole new level. This is a great power scent in my opinion and I will definitely be getting this EdT.
Like I said before it was a fantastic BBS shave and I am smelling great!

Thanks for reading Cadre, and I hope y'all have a great Thursday!

Interesting that the sponge would make a difference. Loving the length of post shave part of your SOTD!

Thanks Dave! I thought it was odd too, but I'm curious if it was the amount of water on the blade from the faucet, or if there was slickness from the soap being left on the blade from it being wiped versus rinsed.

I've been using a sponge for a couple of months. I love how it reduces how much moisture gets in the pivot pin. I'm sure I'll have to repin my newer used razors at some point in the future, but I'd like to do that further down the road and with as little corrosion as possible.
