Down in the Heart of Texas!

Nice job with the 6C. I started out using R4, but have since graduated to R6. It takes some experimentation to get what your face feels is right.

Nice setup and review.

Thanks Tim!

Yeah that is what I figured, but the box was saying to use R1 and R2 for sensitive skin so I was hesitant going above that.

Good stuff! I have the 6c in gunmetal as well. Great razor!

Yes I have really enjoyed it!

Sounds like a winning shave! Good stuff man!

Thank you! It was a really good way to start the day.

Great shave and read. I love my Rockwell 6c. Have yet to try R6, since 5 did a number on my face lol, but that day is coming soon.

Thank you! Yeah I think I will try R3 next. I think I was reading somewhere that someone with sensitive skin said R4 was his sweet spot, so I will just work my up.

Great read and Shave. If I were looking to buy a razor (ok.. ok.. if I weren’t in the cooler) I would be looking at a 6c myself.

Today was my first day using it, but it was a joy. I am looking forward to experimenting with it a little bit more to see which setting I like the best.

Journal Entry 10

Pre-shave: Hot Shower & Jack Black's Face Buff

Razor: Rockwell 6C R4

Blade: Rockwell Blade (2)

Brush: WCS Honeycome Badger

Bowl: PAA Scuttle

Soap: CBL Tonsorial V for Vetiver (1)

Aftershave: Osma Alum & Stirling Tea Tree, Witch Hazel, Aloe & Baxter of California Balm

Moisturizer: CeraVe Moisturizing Cream

Results:

Today was the first day that I used the V for Vetiver soap. This was my first time using a Vetiver scented soap. It is a little difficult to describe the scent, but it reminded me of two-a-days for football. The lather was probably the best lather I have gotten from a CBL soap. It was dense and slick. It provided a great cushion and I felt that it also left my face feeling refreshed and more hydrated than the other CBL soaps I have used.

I also decided to use the R4 on the 6C since the R2 did not shave as close as I was used to. I did feel the blade more with the R4, but it was not uncomfortable and it provided a very close shave. I am very satisfied with the closeness of my shave today and I was able to go over certain spots multiple times without feeling cut up. I cannot say that I am BBS, but I'll take DFS+ with no irritation. I am not sure if I should push it by using the R5, but I feel my curiosity will get the best of me. After using my aftershave splash and balm followed by my moisturizer, my face is feeling refreshed and hydrated. All in all it was a great shave and this razor has me re-thinking DE's.

Thank y'all for reading and I hope y'all have a great day!

Homefront:

Wife is still doing good and little man is kicking like crazy. It's funny when he gets irritated by people always trying to feel him (he comes by it honestly). He will swim as far away from my wife's belly as possible. He is not a fan of the cat (I cannot deny this kid) and likes to hear my coonhounds bay.

Curious where exactly “the heart” of Texas is. And is this something strongly debated by Texans.

It's actually Deep in the Heart of Texas, but since we have people from all over in the forum I went with Down in the Heart of Texas. The reference comes from a song about Texas. Brady, Texas refers to itself as the heart of Texas because it is the closest point to the geographical center of Texas.

However, the heart in the human body is not in the center of the body, so personally I would say Dallas or Tyler would be the heart of Texas.
