Today's shave was thanks to @Maryland998. He graciously sent me a sample of Tabac and Cella. With Tabac being the most polarizing scent of the two I decided to give it a go first.
The scent is very floral, but I don't get the "old lady purse" vibe from it. I feel like it is a masculine floral. The latherability is awesome. Barely any water needed and in no time I had lather exploding out of the bowl. Very good cushion and very good slickness. It did dry out a bit, but just a little water on the brush and it was good to go. I did not test the residual slickness because I was short on time. To me Tabac is probably in the same realm as Stirling soaps maybe a tad less slick, but not by much. A very good soap and I can understand why it has withstood the test of time. Thank you Ken for sending this to me and I am putting this on my WTB list!

Also I tried out my talc for the first time. @BarberDave this stuff is a game changer! Great recommendation.

Thanks for reading Cadre! I hope y'all had a great day!

Pat is all aboard the Tabac and talc train...even the hyaluronic serum caboose is hooked up! Choooochooooo!

Good shave Pat.
Thanks Chris!
I suggest you try all three of those things out!

Glad to have helped at least one person “see the light”. You’ve just dipped your toes into the 🌎that IS Tabac. 💈🇩🇪
Yes I have and I looked up the other scent profiles of Tabac and I think I like Tabac Man the most. We'll see though.

I woke up late again and had to use a DE instead of a straight. Tomorrow will be a straight razor shave no matter what.
Decided to use CBL Tonsorial California Sunrise. I really love everything about this soap. It is a very good warm weather scent, performance is top notch, and it fits the June shave theme.
First time using a gel tipped badger and I want to say it was so much different, but I can't. It splayed nicely and I could definitely feel the tips more than the sides of the hairs. The knot felt a little softer and seemed like it lathered a little better, but that could just be me trying to find a difference between gel tipped and non gel tipped badgers. I will use it the rest of the work week and then use my Stirling badger Saturday and Sunday to see if I can spot a difference.
I wanted to use the Rubie after using a Silver Blue yesterday. The Rubie is not as sharp, but way smoother which is typically what I like. However, I feel that the GSB and Fatboy is just too good of a combination to get rid of those blades completely.
All in all it was a great shave and I am smelling great! I would like to find a similar smelling aftershave for California Sunrise, but Skin Bracer is always a good pairing.

Thanks for reading Cadre, and I hope y'all had a great day!

Are the Gealousy knots supposed to come broken in? Or maybe the difference comes over time?
I think the idea behind gelled knots is having soft tips out the box, made possible with chemicals (I posted a few videos about it somewhere around here), but still need to actually be broken in. That's been my experience so far too.

Yeah I saw those videos, whichbis what lead me to buy this brush. Thanks for the info Ben!

Gel tipped badgers? That's a new one for me. Never did fall down the brush rabbit hole. Enjoy your shaves!
Thank you! Yeah I'm not so much down the brush rabbit hole, more like peeking at the moment.

Ohhhhhh. I must be one hell of a CEC operative :ROFLMAO: I think my 22mm gelousy knot is just starting to break in after maybe 5-8 uses. YMMV, but I really enjoy using it when I'm in the mood to use a smaller knot.

It definitely is a good brush!
