Down in the Heart of Texas!

No seriously what does a tumbleweed smell like? And @Cvargo don’t say like GTB Chad...or I am going to start collecting them too! And yet another of the Cadre will be marked for death by Mrs. S!...

Oh boy here we go! @BarberDave he opened the can of worms. Tumbleweed definitely has a scent. To me the only soap I've smelled that smells like tumbleweed is Saponoficio Varesino Stella Alpina. It's a BIG inside joke that goes way back!!! For a little blurb you can click on the link in my signature

You combine the pine note with the others I'm telling ya it smells like tumbleweed. And I like the soap! It's a favorite of mine!

Well I will leave it at that for now...but when this is over you, me @Patelliott are going to grab some serious Texas BBQ and brews and we’ll test your crazy theory!

Pre-shave: Hot Shower & Jack Black's Face Buff
Razor: Rockwell 6C BP #2
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (7)
Brush: AP Shave Co. Ruby SynBad
Bowl: PAA Scuttle
Soap: Stirling Hipster
Aftershave: Osma Alum & Stirling Witch Hazel, Tea Tree, and Alie Splash & Stirling Hipster Splash
Moisturizer: CeraVe Moisturizing Cream

Results:

For "H" day I had to try out Stirling Hipster. This was one of the soap and splash sets in the 2nd anniversary box and I am pleasantly surprised by how much I like it. I do not associate myself with "Hipsters" so I probably would not have given this soap much thought just shopping on the website. Now I did think that this soap would be a little more on the darker side with coffee, leather, and wood notes, but it seems like it is more like Baker Street and Executive Man. I get a lot of the citrus notes with a cologne background (and that may be where the other notes are). It has only been about 10 minutes since I applied the splash so maybe the dry down will reveal some of the darker notes. All in all I like the scent and I think it is perfect for spring and summer. Aside from the scent of the soap you get all of the Stirling greatness. Stirling will always have a few spots in my shave den.
The Gillette Silver Blue blade is still going strong. I'm wondering if I should call it quits at shave 10 or just go until it starts to tug, but I definitely like this blade a lot. The next blade I am going to try is the Astra SP.

Thanks for reading Cadre, and I hope y'all have had a great week so far. Stay safe out there!

Nice scent description Pat. I too thought it would be darker given the notes but it still is a great scent and addition to the den. Have a great day !

Pre-shave: Hot Shower & Jack Black's Face Buff
Razor: Rockwell 6C BP #1
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (8)
Brush: TSC 2nd Anniversary Brush
Bowl: PAA Scuttle
Soap: CBL Iron Throne
Aftershave: Osma Alum & Thayers Concoction & Skin Bracer
Moisturizer: CeraVe Moisturizing Cream

Results:

For "I" day I had to go with CBL Iron Throne. This is one of my favorites from Chris and I am having a hard time choosing between this and Roasted Oatmeal Stout as my favorite CBL soap. I like the bay rum scent it has and I really like the cooling agent. Wonderful way to wake up in the morning. The performance of this soap is top notch and for the price it is extremely hard to beat. Also, I don't have a perfect matching aftershave for this soap and I used to use Stirling Bay Rum balm, but Skin Bracer is probably my new go to for this soap. It doesn't match the scent obviously, but I feel it pairs extremely well.

Homefront:

Wife has another doctors appointment, so I am excited to hear about that. So far I am scheduled to have a 3 day weekend and I am super excited about that!

Thanks for reading Cadre, and I hope y'all have a great Thursday!
