Shave Quality
Today's shave was great. The BT131 is very Tech-like. It gave me good results with the Lord SS blade. BBS except for a couple of spots where some more cleanup could have been done. Overall great results.


Gear
  • The Baili razors are cheap and made of pot metal, but they give good results.
  • Lord makes great blades. I like several of their Super Stainless models and Platinum models.
  • Still loving the Strike Gold Shave soap base.
  • The TSC limited edition SV brush is good, but not great.
  • The wife likes today's fragrance, so it is a keeper.

Other Thoughts
Two days of work then it is off to Vegas. It should be good times.

Tabac always gives me a top notch shave. Slick, smooth, and irritation free.


Gear
  • Tabac is always good. It performs well and I love the scent.
  • The Baili TTO razor is extra mild, but it does the job well.
  • Gillette Platinum blades are so, so nice on my face.

Other Thoughts
It was a good trip, but it was nice to finally get home last night.

Shave Quality
Great shave today. The Strike Gold Shave soap isn't as good a tallow soap as Tabac is, but that is like comparing diamonds to doughnuts. The shave was low irritation and darn close to full-on BBS everywhere, which is the important thing. The Baili razors might be knock-offs, but they perform well.


Gear
  • All good in the shaving neighborhood.
  • But, I will mention that Master Smokey Oud is really good aftershave. The scent doesn't hang around long, but it is superb while it lasts.

Other Thoughts
Back to work after the Vegas weekend. Blah.

I've been using mine since getting home. I think the smell is excellent. Wish it lasted longer.

Overview
The end of another long week, but things should be a bit easier for a while

Shave Quality
Shaves are great. I took today off because the Crystal + Black Tip SS was a little rough yesterday. My face felt like it needed a break.

Gear
  • The shaving gear is great.
  • I finished off the Strike Gold Rushmore and started into another Strike Gold partial tub. This one is Nixon, which is a lemon scent.
  • It was a really good fragrance week. I love Ferragamo fragrances. Every one that I have tried is a winner. Also, Sucreabeille makes some strange and wonderful fragrances. They are female targeted, but fragrance is unisex in my opinion. The Theorem 13 is a special edition that they only make available on every Friday the 13th. It is floral, powdery, and metallic. I like it and need to get more from that house.

Other Thoughts
The long week started back in April. I have been job hunting. So, there have been a ton of interviews. Monday I took off from my current job to have 3. I signed an offer letter on Thursday. Now I am going to put in my two weeks at the current job.

This week was long also because of the arthritis in my hips. My doctor sent me to physical therapy for it. The first session was Monday. The physical therapist told me that she will not touch my right hip. It is too far gone. I need to get it replaced ASAP. So I am working on that also. It is going to be fun with the change in insurance that will be happening.

Shave Quality
Sunday's shave was pretty good. Today's however, was a little rough. The Flare Tip Super Speed can get aggressive if your angle is even a little off. I scraped up my neck in a couple of spots today. Nothing too horrible, but noticeable.

Gear
  • The Flare Tip SS is an okay shaver. I get much better results from the 1940's Style SS.
  • The blades are fine.
  • Still loving the Strike Gold Shave soap. Once this third partial tub (Nixon) is gone, I have two more to finish off, then I will be moving on to some other partial tub in my stash. I am hoping to kill off a bunch of partially used soaps this year. I am off to a good start.
  • I really like the AV 5-in1 ASB. It is one of the best mass marketed balms around.
  • Light Blue Eau Intense is really good stuff. But, today I am smelling very leathery.

Other Thoughts
The management at my current employer and the software engineers on my team reacted the way I expected, which is to say it was a very 'meh' response to me leaving. My QA colleagues had a more satisfying response, but one that was also expected.

It is nice to be a short timer and to have a bright prospect.

I am looking forward to D&D night on Zoom/Discord tomorrow night.

Today's shave was pretty good. Almost BBS. I have a couple of tender spots on my neck from yesterday. I think I will take tomorrow off from shaving.

  • The 40's Aristocrat is a good shaver. Still a little rough, but better on my face than the Flare Tip SS was.
  • All the other shave bits are good.
  • The L12.12 Blanc is light, fruity, and floral. It is definitely a hot weather sort of fragrance.

Other Thoughts
HR is quick around here. Gave notice yesterday and received exit paperwork today. At least they are efficient.

Shave Quality
Great shave today. The Gillette Heritage shaves much like a DE89. It plus the 7O'Clock Permasharp worked wonders on my face. Not quite totally BBS on my neck, but very smooth.

Gear
  • It is made of pot metal, but it comes in a nice case. The Gillette Heritage shaves well, but probably won't ever be found in an antiques store like vintage ones can be.
  • Permasharps are great blades for me.
  • I am going to be a little sad when all of my Strike Gold soap is gone because it can be difficult to get more of it. These days you have to buy it direct and wait for a new drop. Kinda annoying.
  • Samy Andraus makes great fragrances at reasonable prices. (https://samyandraus.com/)

Other Thoughts
Today's high is going to be around 86 degrees. We are supposed to get snow tomorrow and be around 43 degrees. This is Colorado.

Changing insurance is always a pain. I am going to have to reschedule a couple of things.
