Doug's Journal of Shaving Happiness v2.0

I absolutely love the Easy Aces and most other Genco blades. I used to live dangerously and rock the square toe and spikes tips with no problem, but recently I got bit by the sqaure toe on my spike razor and now I am a little nervous about them. I used to avoid purposefully blunting the very tip but now I am considering it as a protective measure.

This thought has occurred to me too.

Having the square toe can be useful for under the nose and such things, but it does have some very real downsides.

Whenever I get a new Gold Dollar 66 I always round off the toe and heel with a Dremel before setting the initial bevel. It makes for a much more forgiving razor. I have thought about doing this to my vintage razors also.

Overview
The best shave I have had in a couple of years

Shave Stuff
I have been stocking up from the Bullgoose closing sale. I love tripple milled soaps, so I now have multiple pucks of the Levante. It sucks that Bullgoose is closing, but it has allowed me to purchase a really great soap at a good price. Today's shave was one of the slickest I have had in a long time, if ever. I couldn't even feel the blade in the 6C when using the R1 plate. I usually stop after 2 passes, but today the 3rd was required. I am almost DSBBS and my face feels great. This soap may displace the tallow formula Tabac as my #1 soap. Too bad it will be unobtainium in a few weeks.

Other Stuff
We are in process to buy a new house and man are we stressed about it. It is a ranch style house with much more space than our current three level townhouse. It is also new construction and won't be finished for several weeks yet, so that makes it even more stressful. We can't wait to move, but are not looking forward to the moving process. But, we are planning for this to be our retirement house, so we are also really excited. The house is going to be amazing and wonderful, but there is so much to do between now and when we are finally settled in.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.
