Fabulous Thursday shave.

Shave Quality
The Treet Platinum + Parker razor made for a good combo. Two passes of great lather and light pressure left me BBS and feeling good.

Gear
This Parker works will this blade. I will have to use this combo again.

Other Thoughts
Lots of interesting stuff in the Mystery Traveling Box. Not sure what I want to take.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Enjoying some vintage shaves with some winter-y scents.

Shave Quality
These shaves were great. Great lathers from the different soaps. The SS Jack Frost and Oz Winter are better performing soaps than the AOS tallow, but I can't complain about any of them. Lots of BBS to go around.

Gear
The thin cap OLD Type works really, really well with the Treet black. It gave me some of the longest lasting BBSes that I have had from a DE. I am glad that I picked this razor out of the Mystery Traveling Box.

Other Thoughts
I am not happy with all the snow that we got this week.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

I'm not happy for you. Snow is cool for like a couple of minutes, then it gets annoying. Stay safe and warm, Doug.

Overview
Had a rough one today.

Shave Quality
I put too much water in while making my lather so it was on the thin side. It probably would have been fine for a straight shave. I hadn't used this DE in a while and it has a ton of blade exposure. So, I gave myself three nicks and a bit of razor burn on the way to BBS.

Gear
The PAA Magi is one of the best scents on the planet. It is Frankincense and Myrrh with notes of Tobacco Absolute, Thyme, Coumarin, Chamomile, Rose, Lavender and Benzoin. It is my go-to Christmas scent. I can't overstate how amazing this stuff is. This seasonal is worth every penny.

The Boss DE, which I got from Amazon, is an okay razor. The handle is great but the head is just okay. I may keep the handle and throw the head to make a frankenrazor.

Other Thoughts
Happy Thanksgiving!

A very nice two pass BBS after two days of no shaves. The lather was decent, but I need to spend a little more time building it.

Gear
Magi is great stuff.

The Stirling badger is a very nice brush.

Other Thoughts
I am still a little surprised that I won the Pick 'em PIF. This is awesome.

Shave Quality
Another great shave today. I left the house BBS in two passes, smelling like a king.

Gear
My synthetics seem like they whip up the lather faster than a badger. I still like this Stirling brush (from @Dagwoodz Mega PIF), but I am fairly certain that synthetics will always be top in my den.

Other Thoughts
Back to work after a week off. Wishing that I were rich enough to retire early and enjoy the good life. But, I probably will be working until I am in my 70s.

I have the same thoughts. But I don’t think an employer will hold onto us that long.

Shave Quality
This was my first time using a Sikiski product, I believe. I got this soap in @Dagwoodz Mega PIF but saved it for this month. The lather was good. Slick and protective. I still am not getting quite as dense a lather from the Stirling badger as I do from my synthetics. I am not sure if it is me or the brush. Synthetic and badger probably should be expected to create different lathers. Anyway, the shave was two passes of really great BBS shaving. My face feels great.

Gear
The Siliski soap base is good. I don't think it is as good on my face as CBL, Tabac, and Strike Gold, but it is a difference so minor as to be almost imperceptible. The scent is just okay. I get lots of cinnamon and that is about it. So, I would say it is solidly Tier 1, but not Elite.

AV Ice Blue has got to be my favorite classic AS scent. I should use it more often.

Merkur razors really are top notch. They are really great on my face.

Other Thoughts
The game last night, run by my friend Lee, was really great. We are playing the Savage Worlds RPG (Pinnacle Entertainment Group). I love this rules set.

Shave Quality
I made the lather too thin again this morning. For some reason I keep expecting this CK-6 soap to want more water than it does. The lather was ultra slick, but more of a straight razor consistency. That did not stop me from getting a smooth and low irritation DFS+. My neck needed a bit more work, but I didn't have the time this morning. Still, a really wonderful shave.

Gear
The BD179 may be a blatant copy of the Vikings Chieftain, but that doesn't mean it is crap. I really like the shaves that I get from it. It is really mild. The Baili Super Blue blades work well for me in most of my razors, but they are great in this razor. The blade is almost imperceptible.

Other Thoughts
In to work early today after dropping my car off for an oil change. My car will be 10 in May and has over 111,000 miles. I hope it will keep going for a couple more years.
