Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

I found this funny in a dumb way. I was thinking about giving other body parts the day off. Today...I'm not using my right arm. I used it an awful lot yesterday and it could use a break.

Shave Quality
The lather was great. The Tech with Astra SP mowed down a day worth of growth with no problems. BBS with no irritation in two passes. Just a really freaking great shave.

Gear
I just received this Yaqi brush from WCS yesterday. This is my first brush from this manufacturer. I can see why these are as popular as they are. The handle is easy to grip with a nice heft. It has a good feel without being too heavy. The brown hair knot is really soft, whips up a good lather, and applies it evenly. At $15 this brush is an excellent value. It is a really well made shaving tool and one that is going to see lots of use in my den. I am probably going to buy more of these.

Other Thoughts
Last night's RPG session was a learning experience. I don't have the time or energy for heavy weight RPG rules systems these days. I will be moving this campaign to Savage Worlds, which is a comprehensive but low prep rules system.

Chinese razor, Chinese brush...

Shave Quality
Another fabulous shave today. The lather was thick and perfect. The BT131 is a very mild razor that made quick work of the small amount of growth that I had this morning. There is a tiny bit of irritation remaining, but that really only shows up if I touch my face.

Gear
The brown hair knot in this Yaqi brush is really soft. It may be the softest knot that I currently own. I have some badger that gets close when wet, but this one is really soft even when dry. It also turns out the lather really quickly.

The Baili razor is a favorite. It is mild and efficient like a Tech and was really cheap, like less than $10 shipped from China cheap. It is completely pot metal, so it won't last forever, but it will be easy to replace. I am sure that a Timeless or something like that would be more efficient or more comfortable, but you can't beat the price of the BT131.

Other Thoughts
WCS emailed me yesterday to say that one of the badger brushes that I just ordered from them is backordered. I am a bit disappointed by this, but it happens. I hope that it gets back into stock faster than the 2-3 weeks I was quoted.

Shave Quality
The lather was great and the shave is BBS. However the soap disagreed with my face. I kind of like the scent, but this one is going on the PIF pile.

Gear
Tallow + Steel has a great soap base, but this scent really doesn't work with my skin.

Other Thoughts
My big Stirling order shipped today. Yay!!

It is totally yummy. It has only been lightly used as well. If you are interested, I will throw it into a Priority box and get it in the mail to you.
Dude, I'd love that! PM me your paypal and I'll compensate.

Rough one today, but BBS afterwards. I scraped up my neck a bit, leaving three nicks behind. The lather was great, but I was too careless with the razor.

Gear
This clone razor is interesting and fun, but it doesn't like the Treet Black blade and is going to require more care on my neck than I gave it today. It is not as aggressive as the Fendrihan SS LE, but it is quite aggressive. It should be a great tool once mastered.

Other Thoughts
I have the shaving brush AD bad right now... I need to get over it.

Since I just bought a brush, perhaps I'm afflicted too. I find high end brushes incredibly overpriced. I lean to the frugal side with them, and am very pleased with the low-priced Maggard synth I got this week. It can be easy to get carried away looking for that perfect brush, so I avoid looking at them online. Best of luck with this rabbit hole, Doug!

I have bought four in the past couple of weeks... One synth and three badger... All from China...

Ride the cap!

SOTD Pic

Shave Quality
Today's shave with the Double Ring Clone was better than yesterday's. I think the razor likes the Astra blade a bit better than the Treet. Also I was more careful to ride the cap especially on my neck. I still scraped myself a little and gave myself three weepers. However, the shave is a super smooth BBS.

Gear
I have no idea what the make or model is on this clone razor. I haven't found any maker's marks yet. I don't own any Double Rings, but the one Single Ring that I have used is smoother than this razor. I imagine a Gillette Double Ring would best it. However, I like it and am going to continue trying to master it.

I shampooed the Yaqi HMW last night before bed and gave it a test lather today with some beta CBL Tonsorial. There is/was some funk, but not much. The knot is soft and holds a ton of lather. There is some shedding, but that is minimal. It felt good on my face, produced good lather, and has a comfortable handle. I am pleased with the acquisition.

Other Thoughts
I can't wait for my Stirling order to get here. I am also waiting on two more brushes and a couple of shavettes. I hope they all get here soon.

Good stuff

Shave Quality
Today's shave would have been good were my skin not still tender from yesterday. The lather from the Yaqi HWM was outstanding. It was BBS, but the irritation continues.

Gear
I really like this Yaqi brush. It was a good purchase.

Other Thoughts
Watching Christmas movies with the wife.
