Happy early birthday. And way to reminisce about the grandparents. I am lucky to still have some around. It will be hard when they are gone. Thankfully my grandma on my dad's side helps us watch the kids. I am so grateful that my kids get to build a relationship with their great grandma.
 
Thanks for the kind thoughts guys! My kids and myself were very fortunate to have had 4 living grandparents or great-grandparents in my kids case living until Sept 1 of 2017. Both of my mother's parents are still living.
 
Great shaves TJ!

I lost both of my grandfathers at an early age, don't really even remember my dad's dad, he passed when I was 2. My mother's dad passed when I was 7, I do have some memories of him.

Quick entry tonight but it’s maybe my first theme shave!

Throwback Thursday!



Tried a new blade tonight for the first time. Personna Platinum with a blue label and came in a plastic 5 pack similar to the Feather blades. I can honestly say that this is a really nice blade and I did get a BBS with the black beauty set on 5. But the blade was much milder than even the Astra SP blades I like and way milder than my GSB’s.

“Fine” shave indeed! Do you think blade longevity will be there with it being so mild?

Not really sure the Astra’s I get 6-7 shaves from tops 10-12 is about all I can milk from a GSB.

What I wish is that I could find another bottle or two of this splash. It is really really good juice and I can’t find it local. Haven’t looked extensively online for it yet though.

Isn't that the one KJ has hordes up in his vault? I think he said something about it being Canadian? I can’t remember.
 
very nice shave TJ! The Personna Platinum's are my favorite blades; a good mix of smooth and sharp. I typically bin them after 5 shaves, whereas Astras I can get 12+. Don't have all that much experience with the GSB's however.

It's discontinued. The remaining stock can sometimes still be found at Big Lots.

I may have a few bottles...... The Canadian one you are thinking of is Aqua Velva Original Sport (Green).
 
Liking the Pacific Rush!

I cleaned out our Big Lots a couple of years ago of the Pacific Rush and haven't been able to find any since. I think I have about nine unopened bottles. Had more but PIF'd a couple away.
 
Excellent "Throwback" shave!

I didn't even know that the Pacific Rush wasn't being stocked anymore. Guess I'll have to really nurse the only bottle I have.

I dont nurse aftershaves usually. I glug out probably way way more than i need especially when i like the stuff

It's been discontinued for about 2.5 years. I know at least Don and I have a healthy stock, so if any Cadre Member finds themselves completely out, I'm sure at least one of us will have your back.......

*Honestly, I'm not even a huge fan of the stuff.

Thanks! I think I had bought about 20 bottles of the stuff. Not sure how many are left, but at least half that, probably more. It's unobtanium now, so It's nice to have it on hand to be able to PIF to people who still want to try it. Just like Arko. I don't really like it, but I keep a box of it on hand to include a stick in with PIFs, and to give to newbies. As soon as I got rid of my last stick, I bought another box of it!
