Back on the straight train. Two good shave after the last disaster. I am coming to terms that there a couple spots in my neck that I just can’t seem to get BBS with a straight. I can get close, but not quite there. I’ll keep playing around with angles but I seems I need a shorter blade to get in there.
Not much going on around here. The lockdown for us is still very strict. I’ve heard of a few cases of guys leave getting disapproved even for funerals and such. There’s some other silly stuff as well but I guess it’s for the better. Hope you all are staying safe.

Same here...there’s a lot of grey area. Much depends on how you sell the focus of the gatherings.

Nice shave tonight. The edge is feeling a little rough, I’ll take it to the CrOx again to see if it help but it’s probably going to need a refresh very soon. First use of the soloist and it is a VERY nice scent. I love the performance of the Sego base, just seems to work for me. The Speick is just what the doctor ordered and calmed down my skin in no time. I think it’s time to pour myself a drink and relax. Have a good night Cadre.

The 4/8 Razor sure has a different face feel and almost no audible feedback. It seems to shave my chin a bit easier. I’m thinking if I get another straight it’ll be in a heavier grind. Either that or I’ll get distracted my some other shiny object, who knows.
Work was pretty good today, until I was the last one there and locked my keys in the building. That’s always a good feeling. 🤪
All in all not too bad of a day. Have a good night Cadre.

I've managed to leave my keys in my office while on a night shift while i went to the restroom. my office requires a fob to enter that lives on my keychain. oh and my phone was also in the office. and the buildings alarms were on so walking anywhere but the restroom and a couple of nearby desks would set of the alarm systems motion sensors.

that night i learned how to pop the latch of the door with a manila folder lol. they added a plate to the door so that it's more secure from folder access not to long after and we now have a key hidden in the building for us to use when that happens. Turned out i am not the only one it has happened to. Wasn't even the first. i was however the only one to figure out a way back in on my own without waiting for people to show up in the morning lol.

They should have given you a raise for locating security vulnerabilities! Lol. Good idea with the extra key. I’m going to have to get a hold of another one, I know the perfect place to put that sucker.

I’m not too good at describing the smells, but I’ll take a stab at it. It’s somewhat warm but not in a way that would seem like a cold weather scent. I get kind of a fleeting sweetness and maybe a little bit of woodieness. If you’d like I can send you a sample, I have a few empty containers.

Got to try out a couple new to me pieces of gear this evening. The Semogue 610 came used and mostly broken in. I like this brush a lot. It’s a stark contrast to my Graydog with the Maggard’s SHD knot in it while still being a wonderful face latherer. After it’s first use tonight it’s kicking my Omega out of the den for good. I’ve wanted to try a Karve razor for a while and got one at a fair price with both the D and F plates. The D plate has a bit of blade feel, but not uncomfortably so. It never felt like it was going to bite, it just let me know if I was using too much pressure. I ended up with a smooth BBS result with less clean up than with the Lupo. I’ll give the F plate a go tomorrow, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be a bit too aggressive for my liking.

The Karve is one hell of a razor. I gave up on it way too soon. I probably needed the D plate too. I'm glad it's working for you.

Thanks Ben! It definitely made a good first impression. I’m looking forward to getting more acquainted with it.
