Hey I'm only 2 days behind on posting these shaves!

Razor: Edwin Jagger Extra Long Double Edge Safety Razor, Chrome DEL8914BL
Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
Brush: Parker Silver Tip Badger Faux Horn Handle
Cream: Proraso Red
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Figaro Monsieur Bluice Aftershave Splash
Cologne: Guerlain Homme L'eau Boisee EdT

Well one day and 3 years ago (12-27-2015) marks the 1st time I made a lather with a brush and shaved with it. So this shave is to commemorate that shave.
Proraso cream is just good stuff, easy to lather, great performance, enough said.

When I did this shave 3 years ago I actually used a Mach III razor, wasn't going to do that today, so I just went with my 1st DE the Edwin Jagger. 3 passes and some clean up resulted in a BBS+ shave with no nicks, weepers, or alum sting.

Followed with the Figaro Aftershave. This is another one that is supposed to be close to the Floid blue. Suppposedly it has replaced Floid Blue in Italian barbershops. It's close, but to me Floid is more powdery, and there is more mint and citrus notes in the Figaro. The face feel is excellent! Pretty good menthol kick to it. The scent is light about a 2 of 5. I'd say longevity is around 3 hours. I like this scent!

A few spritzes of the L'eau Boisse and I'm good to go.

Straight Razor Shave #240
Razor: Clyde72 Twinworks 50¾
Brush: Wolf Whiskers Bishop "Party on Bourbon Street" with Elite Razor 28mm Manchurian White Knot
Soap: Declaration Grooming Icarus Sellout
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Declaration Grooming Sellout After Shave Splash
Cologne: Al Haramain L'Aventure EdP

This is the 1st Icarus soap base of Declaration Grooming that I've used. This is their take on Creed Aventus. To me the scent is a more woody and less fruity than the Creed Decant that I have. Of course given the wide range of notes strengths in different Creed lots, it may be dead on to a different lot. Strength of scent is 2.5 of 5 in the tub and 3.5 to 4 lathered. The soap was a little thirsty, but other than that, easy to lather using the SV method. The lather has excellent slickness, glide/cushion, and great residual slickness. No stability issues at all.

3½ passes with the Twinworks. I did get a Mr. M visit on the very last stroke on my left cheek next to my nose. There was seepage, but the alum stopped it with on issues. Other than the cut just some slight sting on the neck and a couple of very slight weepers there also. Still a BBS+ shave.

A good splash with the matching Splash. Other than the menthol note it is a dead on match to the soap. Great performance!

A some spritzes of the L'Aventure and I must have been smelling good. Got 3 complements from random ladies in passing.

Watched the Alabama Crimson Tide defeat the Oklahoma Sooners in the College Football Semi Finals Playoff Orange Bowl game 45 to 34. ROLL TIDE ROLL! Yes I was worried that Bama was going to blow a 28 point lead. But our offense came through, well except for that one series. Did anyone watch this game? Was I the only one that felt the refs were letting Oklahoma get away with a lot of stuff? Oh well, The Tide Rolled anyway. Now Alabama will play Clemson again for the National Championship on January 7th. Why in the heck is this game played on Monday night?? This is the 5th College Football Playoff Championship game. This will be Alabama's 4th time in the Championship game and Clemson's 3rd. Each time Clemson has made the Championship game they have played Alabama. They are tied at one win each. Should be a good game. Current line is Alabama by 6.

Sorry about the Murphy visit Craig but it seems that you dealt with it swiftly and efficiently. I love the Wolf Whiskers brush that you have...just a real looker there. Congrats to Alabama for getting into the big game again. I likely won't be watching the game...just kind of tired of watching the Alabama and Clemson matchup. Plus like you said...it's on a Monday night.

Happy New Year to you and your Family Craig!

Great stuff Craig. I really like L'Aventure and have gotten a lot of compliments from it as well.

Good shaves Craig, and great acquisitions!
Thanks Chris!

Thanks Don! Happy New Years to you and your family also!
Great stuff Craig. I really like L'Aventure and have gotten a lot of compliments from it as well.
Thanks Eric! Have you tried any of their other scents in that line?

Razor: Delta Echo Crimson Tide Fatboy G1
Blade: PolSilver Super Iridium
Brush: Envy Shave 24mm White Supreme 2 Band Badger Alluminati Classic - Blue
Cream: Furbo Blu
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Furbo Blu

Last shave of 2018 and I'm Celebrating the Alabama Crimson Tide Victory over the Oklahoma Sooners 45 to 34 in the College Football Semi Final Playoff Game. ROLL TIDE ROLL!

1st time using this brand of soap and after shave. WOW this is one of the easiest soaps to lather that I've ever used, if not the easiest. Using the SV method the Envy brush was loaded and producing proto-lather in about 15 seconds. Within in a minute or so I had what looked like a great lather in the scuttle. Proceeding to the shave I was correct, looks were not deceiving. This lather had great slickness, glide/cushion, and good, almost great, residual slickness. The strength of scent is a 2 of 5 and 2.5 lathered. They say this is a classic Italian Barber Shop scent, like Floid Blue. To me it's a cleaner, brighter smell than Floid. Just barely get any powdery scent and the menthol is slightly noticeable. I do like the scent. This soap has a big dose of menthol and the cooling effect is very noticeable, much more and it would have been a negative for me. No stability issues.

3 passes and some clean up with the Delta Echo and I didn't manage to get just a tad aggressive with a stubborn spot on the neck and chin and that resulted in some weepers and alum sting. I'll still rate this a BBS shave.

Finished with the matching after shave and WOW, another big menthol kick. Almost too much for me again. Strength of scent is 2.5 of 5 and longevity was about 2 to 3 hours. Face feel is excellent.

I hope everyone has a Very Happy New Year!

That sounds like a good soap to keep on the radar. I'm still kicking myself for not ordering a giant bottle of Floid Blue when I had the chance a year or two ago. It was so inexpensive too....

Oh, and I have not tried any of the other Al Harimain frags..yet.

Wow, great setups and what mail calls you've had! Not an Alabama fan myself, though a good friend is an alumnus, so I'm happy for him when they win.

Craig all caught up and really enjoyed the read. Also thanks for the Rudolph gift you sent! Although once I saw it was you that drew me I thought you would have included something a little more crimson. LOL
