Great bunch of shaves Craig, and it looks like Easter was enjoyed by all. Great to get family together.

Double Edge Razor: X2 Gillette Tech w/Maggard Razors MR9 Handle
Blade: Feather
Brush: Fine Classic Angel Hair Synthetic 20mm
Soap: CBL Beta 3 Pipewood
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse Alum Block, and Thayers
After Shave: Bootlegger's Maduro Perfecto
Cologne: Penhaligon's Sartorial EdT

I wanted to use Chris L's beta 3 with a DE. The Pipewood scent is just what its says. I get more of the pipe tobacoo than the wood and the wood is well yeah a wood smell. Typical great CBL performance. Whipped up a great lather with the Fine brush. 3 passes and I'm BBS+. No nicks, weepers, or alum sting.

The Maduro Perfecto after shave and the Sartorial EdT played nicely together.

There was a Drew Estates Cigar Event at the cigar lounge, so I took advantage and got some new sticks.

Straight Razor Shave #146

Pre Shave: Urth Face Scrub and Wash
Razor: Allegany Instrument Corp. WP 5/8 cira 1920 to 1940
Brush: Whipped Dog 26mm Synthetic
Soap: CBL Beta 3 Soy Wax Vetyver
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse Alum Block, and Thayers
After Shave: Duke Cannon Ice-Cold After Shave Balm
Cologne: Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio Parfum

This version of CBL Beta 3 has soy wax in instead of stearic acid, according to Chris L. The performance was pretty much the same, but it reacted to the heat of my scuttle. Not a lot but, I could tell the heat affected the lather just a bit. Seems to have taken more water too. The scent was barely detectable to me.

Well hello Mr. Murphy!

Yes this is the biggest gash that I've managed to give myself so far and on the 1st pass on the 1st cheek no less. I was moving my stretch hand to restretch for the next stroke and my skin slipped out from under my fingers just as I was putting the blade to my face and starting the stroke. OUCH!! Yes this is a gash, not a bite, nor nick, or cut. I sliced out about a 1/2" long by 1/16" wide piece of skin. Yes it bleed, but holding the alum on it for about a minute or so stopped the flow.

Other than the Mr. M visit an nice BBS+ shave!

Finished with some of the Duke Cannon Balm and the Parfum.

SWMBO and I went with another couple to "Stand Up Live Huntsville", a comedy club and say Henry Cho last night. If you've never seen him he is very funny! Korean parents, but born and raised in Knoxville, TN, yes he is a true Southern Korean. LOL!

Here is a clip:

Looks like you need a safety cat!

I have a cat and a dog, but neither of them have shown any interest in taking on the role of SO.

Dang, I’m sitting outside, enjoying a bowl on my new pipe and I was digging your post. CBL pipe soap, a bunch of good looking stogies and then BAM!! There was blood everywhere! The horror!!

That Murphy is sneaky. Great shaves otherwise. I didn't realize that Henry Cho was from my neck of the woods.

I do like mine! Maybe we should create a Murphy's Gallery in which to chronicle our bloody adventures.

Yeah I've thought about that, just afraid it might scare people off too.
