Nice shave with the Vitos Craig...and if you aren't the one driving, nothing wrong with having a nip or two!

Thanks Josh! Oh I won't even tempt fate on a DUI. For a CDL holder it's .04 BAC in most states and Alabama is one of them. I don't want to lose my CDL, I have to us it at work ever so often, that for sure. It's not a requirement for my job, but it sure dose come in handy sometimes.

Totally agree Craig, though in this case was referring to driving the razor around the face. LOL

Nice shave Craig. That razor is definitely a looker. I keep telling myself that one of these days I am going to schedule an appointment to get a shave at my local barber shop. I just never have the fore sight to know when I will have the time and this place is so busy, you have to schedule a week out for a hair cut, no idea how far out for a shave.

Thanks Don!
I think it is something that ever man should do, at least once. This used to be a part of just about any babershop visit. You know ....Shave and a haircut 2 bits....

Good stuff. I used to dream about having someone give me a good shave, but now I wonder if I could stop critiquing what they were doing and relax.

Thanks Dave!
It's more about the experience that the actual shave results. Although I do rank the stylist/barbers on the shave results. There is just something about having someone else take a razor to your neck.

Good stuff Craig. CDL holders get .00 tolerance here in NC. Same with concealed weapons carriers.

Thanks TJ!
Really 0%, is that while operating a commercial vehicle or anytime? And it applies to concealed permits too. Never heard that before.

Whiskey while being shaved? That's awesome

It was very nice!

While driving with cdl and while carrying concealed the tolerance is .00, any other time you are allowed .08

Preshave: Urth Face Scrub and Wash
Double Edge Razor: X2 Gillette Tech w/Maggard Razors MR9 Handle
Blade: Feather
Brush: Parker Silvertip Badger
Cream: Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse Alum Block, and Thayers
After Shave: Floid Black After Shave Splash
Cologne: L'instant De Guerlain pour Homme EdT

I spent as long as my arm and hand would hold out today sanding on the scales for the Hess 44.
My progress and can be seen here:

I just didn't trust myself with my grip or steadiness after that so I decided to go with a DE shave today.
The Parker and the TOBS danced together wonderfully with a few drops of glycerin added to produce a wonderful lather. Nice and slick, great glide/cushion, and residual slickness.

The Maggard, Gillette, Feather combination after 3 passes and just a tad of buffing/touch up, yielded an excellent BBS++ shave. No nicks, weepers, or alum sting.

Finished with good splash of the Floid and followed that with a few vasilis of the L'instant. This is a very nice pairing scent wise, IMHO.

So anytime your driving or just while driving in a commercial vehicle? See here in Alabama it applies to either. If you are a CDL holder. It doesn't matter if you are in a private or commercial vehicle, .04% BAC, which for most would be 1 drink.

OIC, hey haven't you ever heard of having a shot to steady your hand?

LOL...this is true. I would take a shot (or 3) before going in for my speaking portion of my yearly language test while in the military. Keeps you from overthinking for sure!

Straight Razor Shave #144

Pre Shave: Bull Dog Original Face Wash
Razor: Clyde Twinworks 50¾`
Brush: Stirling Soap Co. Finest Badger Shave Brush - 26mm
Soap: Stirling Soap Co. Executive Man
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse Alum Block, and Thayers
After Shave: Stirling Soap Co. Executive Man Aftershave Splash
Cologne: Al Haramain L'Aventure Eau de Parfum

Went with the Executive Man soap and aftershave today. I guess you could almost call this an all Stirling shave. The Stirling Badger brush is one of the best if not the best buy in a badger brush that I know of. This brush is pretty much broke in now and it performing as well as one of my Simpsons, which cost 3 times as much.

Whipped up a great lather and did 3 passes with the straight. I must have been a little heavy handed today, but I didn't realize it till the shave was over. Got 4 slight weepers, no seepage just red dots during the shave. I was BBS for sure and then the alum, OUCH! Yeah not quite a "Home Alone" experience, but it was attention getting.

Just to be safe I put on some LAB Series Razor Burn Relief and then the aftershave splash.

A few vasilis of the L'Aventure and I'm good to go.

Setup 4-1-2018

Went to my brothers house and had Easter dinner. Nice get together! As usual at this kind of things, I ate too much!

Here are a few pictures:

Myself, SWMBO (Susan), and Michael aka Cricket

Myself, my Mother, and my Brother

My Brother and his wife, sons, daugher-inlaw, and grandson.

Hope everyone had an enjoyable Easter!

Man, I guess all those CDL guys are SOL on the wine tasting trails. I swear Napa could raise more money than they could possible use by pulling over every car coming out of a winery.
