Great shaves per usual good sir!

Any idea if Fine Green Vetiver a match to their Clean Vetiver or Fresh Vetiver? Or is it a totally different scent?
Thanks Chris! I haven't smelled the Fresh Vetiver, but from their description I would say they are pretty different.

Another catch up post. I don't know if I'm ever going to be able to get back to daily posting. When the days got shorter it just seems I can't find the time to do so.

After Shave: American Shaving After-Shave Balm Sandalwood Scent
Cologne: Penhaligon's Sartorial Eau De Toilette

Celebrating the Alabama Crimson Tide Victory over the Citadel Bulldogs 50-17

Another soap and aftershave that I haven't used in a while. Love the scent of the soap. No problems whipping up a great lather with the Maggard brush. Great slickness, great cushion/glide, great residual slickness, and no stability issues. The scent strength is a 2.5 of 5 and last for the entire shave.

3 passes with the DE Fatboy and some clean up left a BBS+ shave. I did give myself a pretty good weeper on the chin. Just a very little bit of alum sting.

Rubbed in a little dab of the balm and followed that with a few vasilis of the Sartorial. Nice!

Straight Razor Shave #225
Razor: Wacker Allround Blonde
Brush: Simpson Commodore X3 in Best Badger
Soap: Soap Commander Fortitude
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Soap Commander Fortitude Aftershave Balm
Cologne: L'instant De Guerlain pour Homme EdT

Going through the soaps to select for today's shave and this scent caught my noses attention. Pretty much just as the label says, hay, tobacco (pipe), and rum. As per the norm using the SV method, the Simpson had no issues whipping up a great lather. Excellent slickness, great glide/cushion, great residual slickness, and of course no stability issues. The strength of scent is a 3 of 5 and lingers for the entire shave.

I took the Waker to the Translucent Arkansas stone to see if I could improve on the as bought "factory" edge, which wasn't bad. I can see I was successful, the edge is a little sharper, but much smoother. 3 passes and some clean up produced a nice BBS shave even with the reopening of the last shaves weeper. Noticeable alum sting on the neck and chin.

Finished off with the matching balm and the some spritzes of the LDG. A very nice paring to my nostrils.

Soap: Wet Shave Products Formula T Olympus
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Wet Shave Products Olympus Aftershave Lotion
Cologne: Wet Shave Products Olympus EdT

I was in a Aventus kind of mood so the Olympus was chosen. This is Lee's take on Creed Aventus. A very nice take and scent. Strength of scent is 2 of 5 on the puck and a 3 of 5 lathered. Using the SV method the TSC brush had no problem whipping up an excellent performing lather.

3 passes with the Twinworks and some clean up resulted in a nice BBS- shave. Didn't want to chase anymore than that. No nicks or weepers and very little alum sting.

Finished with the Matching ASL and EdT.

Setup 11-22-2018

Hope everyone had a very enjoyable Thanksgiving!

Soap: Fine Accoutrements Italian Citrus
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Fine Accoutrements Italian Citrus After Shave Lotion
Cologne: Acqua Di Parma Colonia Intensa EdT

Choose Fine's Italian Citrus today. The shave was, well Fine! Using the SV method I had no problem whipping up an excellent lather. Fine soap hits the all the marks for me performance with. The scent is there take on the Acqua Di Parma Colonia. I do like this scent. A very nice citrusy floral scent. The strength of scent is about a 2 of 5 and last for the entire shave.

The Twinworks was still laying on the vanity so I stropped it and used it for today's shave also. 3 passes and some clean up for a very nice BBS+ with no nicks or weepers, but did have more alum sting that I was expecting. Not bad, but very noticeable.

Finished with the Matching After Shave. Then a few vasilis of the Colonia Intensa. I'm smelling very nice it I do say so myself.

Setup 11-23-2018

A typical night at the cigar lounge. We watched the Oklahoma vs West Virginia game. Did either of these teams remember to bring their defense? 115 total points scored, in regulation by the way. 1372 combined total yards. Still was a good game to watch, even if it was a tennis match.

IRON BOWL Shave Roll Tide!

Straight Razor Shave #228
Razor: Buck Salient #138 of 250
Brush: Paladin Chief 26mm Brair
Soap: Paladin Shaving Crossroads
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Paladin Shaving Aftershave Balm
Cologne: Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio Pour Homme EdT

Well the Paladin Shaving Co. brand of soap and aftershave will soon will be unobtainium as it is no longer being made so far as I know. Once is all sold out, there will be no more. The scent of this soap is tobacco leaf and sandalwood and menthol. Using the SV method I whipped up an excellent lather with the Paladin Chief brush. The menthol effect of this soap is pretty intense to me. I don't think I would like it any stronger. The lather has excellent performance and the strength of scent is a good 3 of 5 and last for the entire shave.

3 passes with the Buck and I was BBS with only a couple of small weepers and just a barely noticeable alum sting.

A few pumps of the balm and a spritz of the Acqua Di Gio into it made for a nice smelling after shave. That is one thing that stands out about this balm. It performs great, but I've yet to spray and cologne into it that didn't mix well and make a nice scented balm. A few spritzes of the Acqua Di Gio and I'm all set to go watch the Iron Bowl at my cigar lounge.

Setup 11-24-2018

Well the 1s
t half of the Iron Bowl had me on the edge of my set and required an extra shot of Wild Turkey 101 bourbon, but the Tide came through in the 2nd half and played more to their capability. Final score Alabama 52 Auburn 21, ROLL TIDE ROLL!

Fantastic shave update per normal.

Hope life eases up for you soon! Thanks for checking in Craig!

Great stuff, Craig!

ROLL TIDE ROLL!

Was in a fougere kind of mood today so I went with the RazoRock Blue Fougere. This is a soft soap, really a croap for sure. The scent is very nice! A cross between a blue after shave scent and a fougere. Strength of scent is a 3 of 5 in the tub and a 3.5 of 5 lathered. Typical RazoRock performance. Easy to lather, just load a damp brush on the croap and then make your lather. Great slickness, glide/cushion, and residual slickness. No stability issues and the scent last for the entire shave.

3 passes and some cleanup with the Delta Echo Crimson Tide razor produced a BBS+ shave. No nicks or weepers and just a hint of alum sting.

Finished off with the matching splash and a few spritzes of the Sung. Sung is an Aromatic Fougere scent that is very complex, but it paired great with this after shave IMHO!

Soap: Martin De Candre Fougere
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave 1: Pacific Shaving Company Caffeinated Aftershave Balm
After Shave 2: Aramis Tuscany Per Uomo After Shave Lotion
Cologne: Aramis Tuscany Per Uomo EdT

I was still in a fougere mood and the Martin De Candre was the 1st one I came across. WOW what can I say about this soap? The scent is intoxicating, a 3 of 5 in the jar and lathered. The performance is excellent in all areas. Yes it's a little pricey, but worth it in my opinion.

3 passes with the Klas, just a little clean up, and I'm BBS-. Did manage a couple of minor weepers. Noticeable alum sting, but nothing major.

Finished with the Tuscany Per Uomo after shave and EdT. The Tuscany after shave performance is just so-so, so I did rub on some Pacific Shaving Company Caffeinated Aftershave Balm. This balm performs really well on my face. Rubs in quickly, is not greasy, and leaves me nice and soft. Pretty good on calming down razor burn too! I love the scent of the Tuscany. I've been using it for years and it has been a goto scent for me. Another very nice Aromatic Fougere with some woody scent and just a hint of citrus.

Razor: Gillette Z2 Super Adjustable
Blade: PolSilver Super Iridium
Brush: Satin Tip The Purest
Soap: The Blades Grim Smolder
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Epsilon Blue Mediterranean After Shave

Ran across this soap recently and realized it had been a long time since it go any use. This is a great performing soap. The scent is masculine with some nice smokey accords, a little hint of citrus, and some tonka notes also. I detect a little woodsy accord too. Strength of scent in the tin is a 2.5 of 5 and lather opens up to a 3 to 3.5. I used the SV method and had no problem whipping up a great lather.

I just wasn't in an Straight mood so the Super Adjustable was selected. 3 passes and just a teeny tiny bit of clean up on the chin and I'm BBS+ with no nicks or weepers. Basically no alum sting.

Finished off with the Epsilon Blue Mediterranean After Shave. A great performing and smelling lotion. This is suppose to be based on the Floid Blue scent. It's close, but not quite there IMHO. Still a great smelling aftershave!

Brush: RazoRock Plissoft Disruptor Synthetic
Soap: RazoRock Acqua
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: RazoRock Acqua After Shaving Splash
Cologne: Zcent Acqua EdP

Rainy but warm day here today so I decided to go with an water themed scent. Acqua was choosen. I like this scent! A nice clean oceanic with some notes of herbs, fruits, and just a hint of woods. Typical RazoRock performance.

3 passes with the AIC and I didn't manage to give myself a little love bite on the left law line. Nothing major, but more than a weeper for sure. Was pretty much closed up by the time the alum was applied. Other that that just a tad of alum sting. Overall an nice BBS shave.

Finished with the matching after shave and cologne. Both scents are dead on matches to the soap and great performing products.

Setup 12-1-2018

WOW What a game! If you are a football fan and you didn't watch the SEC Championship game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs today you missed a great game. I was worried through the 1st half, but the Tide came in for the 2nd half and Alabama emerged the victor 35 to 28. This was the 27[sup]th[/sup] SEC Championship Game and Alabama has been in it 12 times now and won 8 times, giving them the most wins in the series. ROLL TIDE ROLL!

ROLL TIDE ROLL!

Had to choose a soap today that says victory and Emperor, just conjures up the image of an emerging victorious warrior today. Just like the Crimson Tide did Saturday.

Typical great RazoRock Performance! The scent is their take on Creed Aventus. A nice clone! I like the scent!

3 passes and with very little clean up and I'm BBS++! A really nice shave this morning to kick off the work week. No alum sting to mention and no nicks or weepers.

Finished with the matching Splash and Cologne. My face is smooth and feeling good and I smell great!

Brush: Simpson Duke 3 in Pure Badger
Soap: Soap Commander Connection
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Soap Commander Connection After Shave Balm
Cologne: Penhaligon's Endymion Cologne

Well 3 years ago on this date I started my "Wet Shaving" Adventure. I didn't start with a traditional setup but with a Mach III and Edge Gel canned goo. This eventually lead me to the "Traditional Wet Shaving" that we here all do and enjoy today. Being the type of individual that I am, I had to prove to myself that that was the better way to shave and I did.

Love the scent of this soap! A nice woods and berries just as described. Some pine and cedar with berries and just a little citrus and eucalyptus. Typical Great Soap Commander performance!

3 passes and some clean up. No nicks or weepers. Very little alum sting. A good BBS shave!

Finished with the matching Balm and then a few vasilis of the Endymion. A nice paring.

Soap: Derby Shaving Stick
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Pinaud Clubman After Shave Lotion
Cologne: Azzaro Per Homme EdT

In choosing today's setup I realized it had been a while since I used a shaving stick. So I went with the Derby. Still amazes me every time I use one how it appears to be nothing on your face, after rubbing it on. Then a slightly wet brush and BOOM! Lather! This is a great performing lather, just a nice soap scent. Great slickness, glide/cushion, and residual slickness. The lather did tend to dry out just toward the end of the pass for some reason today, but still very usable.

3 passes with the Twinworks and some clean up on the chin. OUCH! Yes I did get a pretty good weeper doing the clean up! Other than that, a very enjoyable easy shave. BBS+ with the only alum sting being the weeper.

A good splash of the Clubman, man this is great classic scent! It just says barbershop to me. Then some vasilis of the Azzaro. Excellent pairing IMHO!

Setup 12-7-2018

Wasn't trying to correct you, Just trying to know what to get if I take the plunge. Have a sample of Endymion and love the scent. Dave say I want the concentration too and I don't know what it's called. How long does the cologne seem to last for? Thanks Craig

I get at least 6 or 7 hours, which is really good for me.

WOW CRAIG! That was a lot of shaves! I am amazed at the diversity of products you have also. Thanks for sharing your week with us!
