Wow...a ton of quality stuff there Craig...both with the shaves and the stoggies and drinks!
 
Not a smoker so wouldn't know what was quality but wowzers on the spirits selection. Glad you had a good visit with friends Craig.
 
I wouldn't mind trying a handful of those whiskeys...or two...or three...or...

Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the SC aftershave splash. Scent strength please I MUST KNOW!!! I gotta be honest the price seemed a tad high for the splash so I didn't pull trigger yet.
 
WOW! What a haul. And the collection of liquor is quite nice. What are your thoughts on the Tullamore Dew 12 year? I enjoy the original, but my favorite right now is the Midleton Very Rare whiskey - got a bottle in den for those special occasions.
 
Interesting, I haven't even heard of any of those cigars. What do you think about Japanese whiskey? I know it's all the rage right now.

The strangest thing is we don't coordinate any thing but the time and place, but we've never had two of the same bottles on the table.

The Tullamore was really nice, very smooth and has kind of Scotch feel to it.

For one reason or another this was this 1st shave since Saturday.

Also I'm way behind on reading journals. I'm going to work on that over the next few days!

Straight Razor Shave #198
Pre Shave: Urth Face Wash and Scrub
Razor: Clyde72 Twinworks 50¾
Brush: Maggard Razors 24mm Black & White Synthetic Shaving Brush, Black Handle
Soap: Soap Commander Ambition
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Pitralon Swiss

The soap today was the August limited edtion Soap Commander release, "Ambition" supposed to be Sandalwood, Verbena, and Citrus. Well this is the weakest smelling scented shaving soap that I've ever used. I really didn't smell anything but soap, and so far I've let 7 other people smell it and they all agree too, just smells like soap. Disappointing! Other than that the performance was typical great SC performance.

3 passes with the Twinworks and some touch up on the chin, a couple of weepers and some alum sting on the neck and chin, this yielded a BBS- shave overall.

Finished with the Pitralon.

Setup 8-29-2018


Today was my Friday for this week. I'm taking off till next Wednesday. Just planning on relaxing and hitting the big flea market this weekend. Also I'm planning on attending a new event to me, this Saturday. I'll report back afterwards on it. For now it'll stay a secret.

Straight Razor Shave #199
Pre Shave: Bull Dog Original Face Wash
Razor: Clyde72 Twinworks 50¾
Brush: The Shaving Cadre Legacy Brush
Soap: Soap Commander Respect
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Soap Commander Respect Aftershave Splash

Took the Twinworks back to the Trans Ark for a touchup. The edge was a little tuggy the last outing. Much smoother now.
3 passes and I'm BBS with a couple of weeper and one slight love bite from a bad approach angle. Yeah almost 200 straight shaves and I'm still learning. Some alum sting.

Finished with the Soap Commander Aftershave Splash. This is a dead on match to the soap scent. The strength of scent is a good 3.5 of 5. The face feel is great! My face feels nice! Longevity is going on 4 hours now and it's pretty much done. Just a faint trace of something.

Setup 8-30-2018


Enjoying the 1st full day of my staycation. Slept in this morning and watched a few DVR'd shows. Enjoying a cigar or two at the lounge tonight. A little warm on the patio, but nice.
 
Great update per usual Craig!

Looking forward to hearing how the new for you event goes. Especially good luck on the flea market hunt!

Great catch-up post Craig, as per usual! Surprising that the Ambition soap was so weakly scented.
