Nice shaves Craig and pics. Always wanted to get a wolf whiskers brush but prefer the look on a site and pick what you want to buy. Put in cart and purchase, verses the line up and wait way things are going. I know some say it's worth it but I'm too spontaneous of a personality to go thru the process. Maybe someday. Have a great day.

Thanks Dave!

Yeah getting on the list took me about a year. Then it was 4 or 5 months after that before my name came up. Given that each brush is custom made to your specifications, and due to the demand, the list is necessary.

That is the only negative though, Peter is great to work with and delivers a superb product.

Nice recap, Craig. I had a chance to pick up a monster jug of Floid Blue on the cheap a year or so ago, and passed on it. Kinda sad about that now.

Thanks Eric! Yeah me, too! I think that it was only sold in the 400ml bottles. Maybe one day we'll stumble across one somewhere at a reasonable price.

Wow, I didn’t know that was the process. Pretty cool with that demand he makes each one custom. I guess that like Eric too!

Yeah he has dozens of shapes and materials to choose from and several knots, or you can do like I did and send him a knot. Great guy to work with!

There's actually a wait to get on a list that names are lottery drawn from to get on the actual list. That drawing opens twice a month and when 100 names are on it it closes. Again that's just to get in the lottery to get picked to get on the actual list. I like his brushes and would love to work with him but I'll either wait until it is more attainable or do without and enjoy viewing other peoples works of art. I may just have Eric make me a 1 or 2 more before he becomes famous and starts a lottery process......

Straight Razor Shave #183

Pre Shave: Urth Face Scrub and Wash
Razor: Clyde Twinworks 50¾`
Brush: Maggard Razors 24mm Black & White Synthetic
Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Master Well Comb Breeze After Shave
Cologne: Versace Pour Homme EdT

I had to go into work today so this shave was and after work shave.

Staying with the "Blue" theme, today's shave went off pretty well. Typical great lather from the MWF and 3 passes with the Twinworks resulted in 3 slight weepers and just a tad bit of alum sting.

Finished off with the Breeze After Shave and a few spritzes of the Versace.

Thanks Dave! Oh you have to try both of them. Kind a must do IHMO, just like Williams.
That is shocking indeed!

I still have some semi vintage Williams from my early days unopened and will eventually get to it again. I guess the pics of the old leather worn skin lady and the smoke surrounding her has left me head other directions from Tabac. MWF I may get to some day. There are sooo many good soaps, you know what they say. "You can't have EVERYTHING.......where would you put it?"

Straight Razor Shave #184

Pre Shave: CBL Pre-Shave
Razor: Clyde Twinworks 50¾`
Brush: Omega Boar Badger & Blade 10th Anniversary Shaving Brush, Black/Gold Flake Handle
Soap: Williams Mug Shaving Soap
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Aqua Velva Ice Blue After Shave Lotion

All bleeding stops, eventually!
Continuing with the "Blue" theme, M is for Monday and you know what else? Yes Mr. Murphy was in the house! He must have been feeling patriotic, so he decided I needed some red (blood) and white (septic pencil) to go with my blue.
I whipped up a great Williams lather with the B&B Boar brush and was on the very last quarter of my 1st pass. I came in hot and the bite caused me to flinch and OUCH!! Only about 1/2" long just below the jaw and near the ear. Not the worst or biggest cut that I've had but, man did it bleed! I grabbed the alum block and it only stung. Didn't slow the seepage at all. Okay where in the heck is that septic pencil. That'll stop it, right? NOPE just more sting, it did slow it some.

I was determined to finish the shave with the straight! Re-lathered the remaining area and finished up with the ATG pass. Rinse, apply septic with pressure. Stopped just long enough for me to get my lather on for the XTG pass. Finished the XTG, picked up a weeper on the chin. More septic pencil and a tissue to apply direct pressure. Okay that should do it right, nope. ATG pass on the oppsite side of the neck and the blood is flowing again. Quickly finished the ATG pass with dabs of a tissue to soak up the seepage. Rinsed and more septic and direct pressure. Alum block applied to rest of face, being careful to avoid the cut and keep that area of my face still. I think there was some alum sting but, I really wasn't paying attention to it. I was more concerned with the seepage! Still managed a BBS- overall somehow.

Splashed on the witch hazel again avoiding the cut, but it started bleeding again anyway. More septic and pressure.

Splashed on some of the Aqua Velva and hurray no seepage!

Left the den and proceeded with the rest of my morning routine. When I returned to brush my teeth there was a blood trail all the way across and down my neck to below the Adams apple. But the bleeding had stopped. I should have took a picture, but I didn't think about it. I managed to get the trail wiped off without starting the flow again. No more seepage the rest of the day.

Pre Shave: Dove Men+ Hydrate+ Face Wash
Razor: Gillette '48 - '50 Super Speed
Blade: PolSilver Super Iridium
Brush: Simpsons The Duke 3 in Best Badger
Soap: Beecham Williams Mug Shaving Soap
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Aqua Velva Ice Sport After Shave Lotion

No shave Tuesday.

Yes Mr. Murphy, you got my attention!
Last of the "Blue" themed shaves. Okay yeah I played it safe today with the DE. Decided to go vintage with this one, except for the brush and blade. The Beecham Williams produced a great lather and the Super Speed did it's job on all 3 passes and just a tad bit of clean up. No nicks or weepers and just a barely noticeable alum sting. BBS+ shave.

Finished with the Vintage Aqua Velva.

Setup 7-25-2018

Over the last few days I've let several people, guys and gals, smell the Floid Blue, Epsilon Bue, and RazoRock What The Puck Blue after shaves. Believe it or not, it's pretty much a tie. Everyone liked all 3 scents, one was undecided on which one smelled more like Floid, but she liked the RazoRock scent best. So which one is more like Floid? The jury is hung!

Mail calls
cmh737 aka Chris H. sent me the sample of Floid Blue and also these soap samples. Thanks Chris!! I'll be testing them soon! All 3 smell great!

Scored this vintage soaps on the bay.

Threw these blades in with an amazon order.

Found these at my local supermarket.

Straight Razor Shave #185

Pre Shave: Bulldog Original Face Scrub
Razor: Clyde Twinworks 50¾`
Brush: RazoRock BC Silvertip Plissoft Synthetic
Soap: RazoRock Santa Maria del Fiore Sapone da Barba
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Cremo Skin Clearing Post Shave Balm Unsecented
Cologne: Zcent Santa Maria del Fiore EdP

I ain't scared!
Seeing Dave's post last night, I was reminded that I had this soap and cologne. Hadn't used them in a long time so I went with them today. The scent on this soap is great! A good 2.5 of 5 in the jar and 4 of 5 lathered.
From IB's website:

Tabacco Toscano Colonia; think Toscano cigar with hints of vanilla, amber and a backdrop of eucalyptus and menthol.

Performance is excellent, most definitely Tier 1. Didn't bloom the soap, just went with the fairly wet brush. Loaded for 30 seconds and whipped up a great lather. Nice and slick, good cushion, and residual slickness. The menthol effect is just right, not over the top, but noticeable. And the Scent. Mr. M. had better not show up and ruin this shave!

Daring Mr. M. to show his face I went the the Twinworks again. 3 passes and a little clean up produced a nice BBS shave with only one slight weeper. Of course I'm still avoiding the cut, letting it heal. Just a little alum sting.

I finished with some of the Cremo Balm. Okay this stuff doesn't want to come out of the bottle. Going on I was afraid it was going to be greasy, but it did dry down without any greasiness. It did take it about 10 minutes or so to dry though. The face feel is good.

A few vasilis of the Zcent and I'm good to go!

Still working on catching up reading everyone's journals.
Work has been busy, busy, busy, this week and no end in sight. Well till next Wednesday. I'm going to be on TDY for 3 days at Eglin AFB. Well 1 day travel to, 1 day there, and then travel back Friday. It'll be a nice change of pace. So I'll have to decide on what to put in the travel kit.

Ouch! Monday's shave had me cautious about reading the rest of your shaves! Really nice mail calls also!
